< CRISIS SYSTEM ARRIVED! > The Crisis System has finally be constructed and release to the general public. We encourage people to test out the system and enjoy themselves in drafting grand stories capable of changing the dynamics of the Role-Play World. Understand that the system is new, thus there are some kinks to be worked out that we couldn't due to not having enough man power to test! Make sure to read the rules which are placed in the Rules and Checks section of the RP Boards.
< THE NEXT MAJOR EVENT! > The Next Major Event will arrive starting the first week of Decemeber! Why are we making this announcement so early? Because we want to provide ample amount of opportunity to warn the community to start preparing and testing out their move sets. It will be a faction event once more, which means Heroes vs Villains BUT remember that Vigilantes are now thrown into the fray. It would be utter chaos so stay tune!
< To Be Announced > TBA
The screams allowed Asahi to learn where the villain had been instead of where he was but based on that piece of information many facts could be inferred. For instance, opting to leave henchmen behind had proven to be a fatal decision due to the existing mistrust between the warper and the rest of the group that Asahi was ignorant of. By leaving their side a golden opportunity manifested for the prying criminal whose only interest was to get rid of any evidence of this altercation that might lead the heroes back to him. Essentially, allowing him to kill these people was no longer an option; not just for moral reasons but if the teleporter succeeded in eliminating them, he would finally be able to warp away from this whole ordeal unpunished. “I do ponder what these people knew that merited such harsh measures, though.”
Without further contemplation, the glowing living sun opted to rush to the aid of the other thugs just to ensure their safety albeit in light of the warping powers the criminal commanded he might be too late to the party. Exerting his energy reserves to exude even more energy, Antares engulfed himself in an aura of solar energy capable of burning through anything in its path before taking the shortest path to the thugs. “Killing your own men? You know no honor, villain.”
The scenery from the sky allowed him to have a better perspective, to see the bigger picture and intercept the next move. “So far he’s been ahead of me by at least two, three steps. I can’t allow this senseless violence to continue. Now he knows I am onto him so rushing to the rest of his teammates could lead me right into a dangerous trap and with no backup that is a risk I can’t afford. I’ll need to stay on my toes, ready to respond.”
Inching closer to the position of the thugs through the air, Asahi prayed he would make it in time.
The one remaining thug scrambled for the edge of the rooftop, desperate to escape the encroaching mist, blood-soaked leg failing to support his weight as he begged for his life. "C-come on, man," he cried out, dragging himself backwards the last few feet to sit against the wall, blood streaks marking his trail the few feet he'd managed to crawl across. "I-I'll give you the money - I will! Please, man," he began to stifle a sob, arm reaching around, desperate for something to defend himself with. "I-I got a wife! K-kids!" causing E to stop a moment, a sharp breath of air escaping him, "Yeah, two of 'em, please don't kill me man," he said, before he started to ramble.
At this, E closed in on the sprawled, helpless man. "Like I said," E spoke, his voice hardening, "You're no good with a gun, and your tongue's far too loose - I'll be taking it in exchange for your causing me all this trouble," he said as his fog began to stretch out towards the thug, reaching like grasping tendrils about to drag him into a maw. He stopped when the sound of concrete being obliterated closed in on their position, though, turning to see the sun-wreathed form appearing once again.
"Turn back, hero," E called out as he came within earshot, waving a hand as he manifested several large clouds of black fog between them, "I've no interest in staying here longer than I need to!"
“Seems we’ve got a conflict of interests, then!” Asahi called out to the villain, attempting to distract him for as long as possible. Once again, he found himself confronted by large purple clouds - ports to other places that could essentially turn his own projectiles against him. “It wouldn’t be wise to release in a form that could be employed against me so let’s see how you deal with this!”
In a heartbeat, the temperature in the area rose sharply as Asahi flew around the fog, avoiding it entirely. This large increase originating from Asahi served several purposes. First and foremost, it was not an attack that could be redirected thus a perfect way of battling a warper. Secondly, it was capable of producing the same aftereffects as being exposed to a three-day strand in the desert. Dehydration, hard time breathing, lightheadedness would afflict anyone who stayed within such a radius fundamentally making it one of the few noninvasive methodologies Antares held in his arsenal to restrain people.
Finally, it allowed him to confirm whether this person had a physical body that could be hurt through non-physical means. So far he had only materialized portions of a human body but there was no indication they possessed the basic human organs. At last landing on the rooftop, exhilarated by the prospect of being able to fight the villain to a possible standoff, Asahi taunted the man. “Tell me, criminal; do you sweat like the rest of us mortals do?”
“Seems we’ve got a conflict of interests, then!” the sunlit hero called to him through the fog. He seemed to scan the fog E had laid out for a moment, and rather than try to fire a projectile through like most did, he moved to circle. As waves of heat began to emanate from his body, the searing heat turned scorching and E was forced to pull his left hand back within the portal, his right being slightly protected by the warding reflectiveness of his gauntlet.
"Indeed," E muttered under his breath, pulling the fog closer to him and increasing the density of it, warding his body from the heat with layers upon layers of light-soaking black fog. The thug, left exposed to the harsh light, seemed to almost visibly dry out as the hero circled. As the humanoid star came to land on the rooftop, he called out another question, one that made E chuckle quietly, “Tell me, criminal; do you sweat like the rest of us mortals do?”
"Like the rest of you mortals, eh?" He laughed, "I'm no more god than you, much less heavenly," and E turned his gaze back to the thug slumped against the barrier and darted for him, fog reaching to envelope him as the two vanished from the rooftop. The thug's body pitched backwards as they reappeared a few meters ahead, eliciting a groan of pain, and E manifested his chest from out of the portal, reaching into his vest pocket and producing his phone.
As the device regained its connection, it buzzed with the text message he'd been waiting for, and a slight sigh of relief escaped him as E read the coordinates held within. Having them displayed just makes it so much quicker, he thought to himself, stepping up to the thug sprawled on the rooftop before him. A tendril of fog snapped out, wrapping around the thug's notably sunburned throat as E stared at the phone. The fog expanded around his own body slightly, and turned inward, spiraling into itself and winking out of existence while the tendril of fog remained unaffected by the swirling, also vanished with E.
Met by a clap of thunder and the heavy pattering of rain, E emerged from his portal as an inch-thick disk of flesh dropped out beside him, landing in the heavy rain with a splash that was drowned out by the downpour. He glanced at the section of neck he'd taken from the final thug, a solid cut that turned the puddle it had fallen into a dark red. Swallowing the bile that threatened to crawl up his own throat, E looked away and out into the street. Turning, E caught sight of a figure, just inside the opening to a ramen shop. A bright warm light amongst the darkened stalls surrounding was a welcome sight after such a botched attempt at exploring New York's underbelly further. Seeming to notice his approach, the large figure turned a shadowed face towards E. Even from the darkness of his brimhat, the gleaming silver eyes were a dead giveaway as E strolled up, a portal overhead redirecting the falling rain.
Asahi found himself dumbstruck, a sunken expression in his eyes as his mind attempted to process the latest development in his encounter with the villain whose name he still did not know. He was sure he had proceeded according to his plan, which was meant to make his heat work as a deterrent to the thug’s abduction. Not only did the man ignore the effects of his attack but he was able to bypass his tracking speed altogether for a mere second, enough to warp both of them far away.
The possibility of predicting the man’s whereabouts was no longer there, there were no more mouths to shut up nor any decipherable goals the villain may have based on the information available to Asahi. He turned off his transformation, reverting his body back to that of a regular teenager, cause the energy surrounding him to dissipate. He would be required to file a report of the battle that had just ensued so he climbed down a step of the stairs that lead back to the street to survey the magnitude of the damage the warper had inflicted upon society.
It didn’t take him long to find the big-handed hero taking care of the fallen heroes and presenting his account of the facts. The hero thanked him for his intentions but reminded Asahi he was still far away from a full-fledged hero and that acting in the way he did could lead him to an early grave if he wasn’t more careful. Waving goodbye to the policemen and heroes, he started back on his way home, once again eluded by a New York villain. Another reminder of how long and arduous the path to the strongest was.
