Alcides had been at the Dawn University for about one week. Alcides, who had been accepted into the school through recommendations wasn't exactly thrilled at the whole concept of being at a public institution. Alcides, ever since throwing away his old name, Heracles, had lost interest in directly looking upon man, more like he wasn't deserving of doing so. Alcides showed this by wearing a see-through shroud, while Alcides wanted to completely block off his vision he knew that wouldn't be practical. Alcides was a warrior and he wasn't at the level where he could disrespect his opponent by completely covering his face. If he could not shut off his face, Alcides would make it harder for humanity to gaze up upon him. Alcides was making his way to one of the only classes he cared about, physical training class. This school bored Alcides with many of the things it taught but Alcides always wanted a chance to improve his skills, physical training class was the place to do that. As a Greek Warrior, Alcides had great physical conditioning but his quirk didn't give Alcides any offensive abilities, well, besides his absorption but that doesn't work against everyone, especially mutant types. Once getting into class, most people were split up into pairs. Alcides was paired up with a peer named Arthur, Alcides looked down at the young man, Alcides was physically more imposing, but Alcides knew that looks could be deceiving.

Arthur Pendragon had successfully earned his residency within Dawn University. The stress of worrying about the future finally subsided, even if for a tiny bit and for even a shorter time. The prince had been inducted into the 2018 class of inspiring heroes, specifically the heroic division under class A1. None of the specifics stood for much value for Arthur, if he could be placed in an environment to groom him into an amazing warrior – leader – and hero. The schedule that the prince took on was not light by far, considering that he was taking courses beyond the average recommendation for freshman.
Mind and body, both qualities needed grooming to be a proper king. Perhaps that type of classes did not scare the prince away because of his natural dislike for confrontation. Peculiar in design, the university frequently required physical grooming for the students. To be a proper hero, students had to master their quirks as well means of combat. For Arthur, that was quite difficult due to his pacifist nature and the inability to utilize his quirk efficiently. The prince was teamed with a strange individual, one of few words but a stern – almost oppressive demeanor. To say the least, the presence of his classmate was intimidating.
“Excuse me. I am Arthur Pendragon. Your name is sir?”

Arthur: Excuse me. I am Arthur Pendragon. Your name is sir?
This is the part of schooling Alcides did not care for. Alcides would have to interact with others, something Alcides didn't enjoy in the slightest. It seemed his classmate felt like introducing himself to each other, Alcides felt obligated to reply. Despite his distaste for socializing Alcides was surprised, despite being in a society full of strange looking individuals people seemed afraid to approach him. This was due to Alcides rather imposing physical stature, on top of the fact that Alcides skin was dyed red due to his quirk. Arthur Pendragon showed no hesitation in talking to Alcides.
Alcides | Heracles: My name is Alcides
Alcides himself peered at the Arthur. It seemed that Arthur was in possession of two blades, one on his waist while the other was strapped onto his back. This intrigued Alcides, not only did he appear to be a swordsman it was possible that he used two swords. Most people these days fought with their quirks so for Alcides to see someone who fought in a more traditional means, this piqued Alcides interest.
Alcides: I see you're a swordsman, I hope that I can see the extent of your abilities in our duel.

Alcides had introduced himself, which can as a surprise to Arthur. The surprise was in the man’s tone which seemed more peaceful than expected. Even more strange was the prince lack of awareness. His peer had a red complexion for his skin and his face remained hidden by some article of clothing. Not sure of it had traditional or cultural value behind it, Arthur’s interest was piqued regarding the character’s background. All this shock did not bother the prince, just astonished him that his disposition remained untouched – even in presence of such a different appearance.
“Swordsman? I guess in the literal sense of the title, yes, I am someone who wields swords…but I am no true swordsman.”
Arthur would look down, sulking in the rapid spree of depression. The words of that swordsman with the afro continuously ran through his mind. Even worse, the prince found it difficult to even strike down bots. Creations without life, the teenage found it possible to take its “life” only when wielding the Holy Sword Excalibur – the key to the kings of old. Arthur would speak once more.
“A swordsman…I am unaware if you are one yourself..”
Arthur would laugh considering he has left his swords behind many of times.

Arthur Pendragon: Swordsman? I guess in the literal sense of the title, yes, I am someone who wields swords…but I am no true swordsman.
Alcides watched as Arthur starts to sulk as he said that. It seems that for some reason simply bringing up the subject of being a swordsman gave Arthur a heavy heart. Alcides wondered what had happened to Arthur for him to act like this, Alcides, being a fellow warrior was curious to what had happened to the young swordsman. For him to be brimming with happiness to sulking in within the space of a couple of seconds was fascinating to an extent. Before Alcides could continue Arthur continued
Arthur Pendragon: A swordsman…I am unaware if you are one yourself..
Arthur would let out a little laugh before chuckling.
Arthur Pendragon: What constitutes as a swordsman.”
Alcides: I am a warrior. I have been trained in multiple forms of combat, swordsmanship just happens to be one.
Alcides paused briefly before continuing.
Alcides: A swordsman, to my knowledge is someone who wields a blade in battle. More precisely, it's someone who uses a sword to help carry and protect his ideals. It's the same for any warrior, let it be a Spearman, Bowman, or even a Martial Artist. But let me say one thing, a weapon filled with regret and fear will not protect anyone.
Alcides was curious about how these words would effect Arthur.
Post by Big News Gecko on Mar 20, 2018 2:24:08 GMT
Another individual mentioned the purpose of the sword being used to fulfill the wielder’s ideals. These words however spoken by an individual that seemed righteous in nature. Although nothing led Arthur to believe that Alcides possesses morals, just his mere presence in the school assumed seem more plausible. Besides, the prince’s quirk to connect with lingering wills granted him a unique perspective when using his intuition. Alcides seemed like a strong, unmovable soul and since he spoke about warriors in such a “honorific” syntax – it made this character profile even more acceptable.
“Is that so? What about good or evil?”
Arthur would withdraw Sequence from its sheath, the blade gleamed as it refracted any visible light source that found its way into the gymnasium.
“Should I become the king…I mean hero that people need, raising my sword to harm is evil. I am no different from the villain.”
Arthur stumbled over his words because he was not interested in disclosing his background to Alcides. The prince was too modest to mention something that seemed unbelievable and/or had no factor for Alcides personally.
“Some guise that I am doing for the sake of others shouldn’t excuse me of the act, no?”
The prince looked at his partner, stern in trying to seek resolution in his internal conflict.

Arthur: Is that so? What about good or evil?
Arthur had seemingly been testing Alcides's and his character with all these questions. The young man was trying to evaluate his character, that much was obvious. The question Alcides was just asked was a common one, the debate about good and evil. This question had been asked plenty of times, but nobody seemed to come to an agreement on it. Good and evil as a concept wasn't a black and white as everyone made it out to be. This seemed to be a subject that always perplexed certain people, Arthur seemed to fall under this category. Although both Arthur and Alcides were the same age, their experiences seemed to be quite different. Arthur withdrew the sword on his hip from its sheath, the sword itself glistened. Alcides almost forgot, they were here to fight.
Arthur: Should I become the king…I mean hero that people need, raising my sword to harm is evil. I am no different from the villain.
Did Alcides just hear that correctly? Arthur just mentioned himself becoming king, Arthur may just have revealed something he shouldn't have had. Alcides acted like he didn't hear that.
Arthur: Some guise that I am doing for the sake of others shouldn’t excuse me of the act, no?
Alcides: A good king discards the concept of good and evil in front of someone who threatens his people and Kingdom. It will be hard for a 'good' person to be a 'good' king. If protecting your people requires you to be a 'villain' so be it.

Alcides had heard Arthur’s mentioning of becoming king, yet that did not faze him. He continued to shed his perspective on the world, specifically about good and evil. For him, there was no need to evaluate the spectrums when the goal at hand was to protect those he was responsible for. Hearing that sentiment reminded the prince of the samurai with the afro once more. Through his twisted words, it seemed that what he shared coexisted with even Alcides. Perhaps that was the reason why Arthur struggled in the way of the sword if he did.
He trifled with understanding if wielding a sword to harm others were morally righteous or not, which hindered his ability to fight. Thinking about wielding a sword to protect his kingdom and people against those willing to harm them, that itself was necessary to be a good king. If the prince simply thought of swordsmanship being the tool to create be that protection for Camelot, then good or evil did not matter. If anything, the evil would be thwarted by the Holy Sword Excalibur – which itself was considered righteous. Arthur would look up with a smile while rubbing the back of his head.
“Thanks! I suppose I owe you one.”
A professor would inform the class that it was time to begin spars. Students would line up, awaiting their time to commence battle.
Post by Herbal Essence on Mar 21, 2018 2:35:15 GMT
Alcides watched as he saw Arthur take in everything he said. Alcides simply gave his opinion on the question presented to him and he didn't hold back while doing so. If his view on this hurt Arthur in any way, so be it. Alcides simply wanted to give insight on the matter, if he took it in or not was his choice. Despite that, Alcides wanted to see how the young king would respond. If Arthur's verb slip up was true, the burden of a king was heavy one an individual's shoulders, this applies especially to the young king, he's young without being given time to develop. Regardless of that, Arthur had the right mindset, the young king wanted to absorb as much knowledge as possible.
Arthur Pendragon: Thanks! I suppose I owe you one.
It seems that Alcides and his insight had benefitted Arthur in some way, it was up to him to apply what Alcides had told him. Before the conversation could continue even further, the professor proceeded to start up the class. All the students lined up waiting for their turn to spar. Alcides was unimpressed with most of his classmates. Alcides was unimpressed was the majority of his classmates, they relied too heavily on the quirk, most of them not even that powerful.
Professor: Alcides! Arthur! You're up next. Words: 223

Arthur stood on the sparring mat, holding the sheathed Sequence in one hand. Reflecting over the words of Alcides, the prince began to understand that his childish perspective of the world was hindering his progress. Perhaps it was due to the luxury lifestyle handed to the teen, but such fairy tales were over. In due time, Arthur would have to take the throne. To lead with the strength and power reminiscent of the Kings before him, the prince decided that his true journey to becoming worthy started with this spar. Arthur would unsheathe Sequence and point it at Alcides.
“Yours words earlier. They were significant thus shall remain with me for all eternity.”
Arthur would swing Sequence to the right of him, since his right hand wielded the training sword, like a matador whipping his cape outward in a flashy manner.
“My desire is to return your helpful words with the utmost respect and since we are due for battle, I shall respect you as a warrior. I shall engage in combat with you and use every ounce of my strength to emerge victorious.”
The prince would give a smile, even if it was falsely representing his current emotions. He wanted to properly honor Alcides.

Alcides walk on to the sparring mat, him and Arthur stood five meters apart from each other. It seems that their conversation was still on the young king's mind as they prepared to fight. Arthur withdrew the sword on his waist as he readied himself. It seemed that Arthur wasn't going to use the bigger sword on his back, Alcides wondered why this was the case. Was it because he was underestimating Alcides? Arthur didn't seem like that type. Was it because he couldn't or was he saving it? Either way, he didn't take much heed of it, this was only a sparring session. Arthur pointed his blade towards Alcides.
Arthur Pendragon: Yours words earlier. They were significant thus shall remain with me for all eternity.
It seems Alcides words had an impression on Arthur, it was an awhile since Alcides had helped someone out like this.
Arthur Pendragon: My desire is to return your helpful words with the utmost respect and since we are due for battle, I shall respect you as a warrior. I shall engage in combat with you and use every ounce of my strength to emerge victorious.
Arthur let out a smile as the fight was about to go underway.
Alcides: I shall return the favour. Come at me, Arthur!
Alcides loaded an arrow on to his bow ready to strike. Words: 226

Arthur gripped Sequence with both hands, the swordsman began to circle around his opponent. Alcides had already drawn his bow, yet did not take the need to aim.
“He is perhaps waiting for me to strike. Range is his specialty and melee combat should be mine, but urgh!”
The prince began to pick up his speed, now actually sprinting around his opponent. Sequence now dangling in the air, behind his body, as he attempted to sight a weak spot. Aclides of course would adjust his position, always tracking Arthur’s movements.
“If I continue to just move around, he’ll get annoyed. I must do away with these silly insecurities. The Kings of Old would be ashamed for what their bloodline has become.”
Arthur would abruptly stop and move forward, swinging Sequence upward into a strong forward thrust. Despite the onslaught, it lacked the necessary strength and conviction behind it. Despite his change in ideology, becoming use to practicing those ideals would not be as easy. However, Arthur mind was not dull. Despite his physical capabilities, he possessed a brilliant mind. This thrust would force Alcides to readjust his position to counter. Perhaps if this was a real fight with malice intent, like that man with the Afro, the prince would have been shot down. Considering that it wasn’t, there was room to make mistakes.

The time for words was over, Alcides and Arthur would now engage in combat, even though it was not a life and death fight Alcides took it seriously. The last thing Alcides wanted to do was disrespect his opponent in this case. Arthur began to circle Alcides. It seems that Arthur was looking for some type of opening, he was waiting for that chance to strike Alcides.
Alcides (thoughts): It seems like he's not an idiot.
Arthur's speed began to pick up the pace, Alcides observed him start to sprint as he continued to follow the boy's movement. Arthur suddenly stopped, it seems like he found something. In response, Alcides prepared himself for whatever came next. Arthur burst forward, Alcides looked onward at Arthur's sword raise up as he started to thrust it forward. Alcides, in response, kicked off the ground as he propelled himself backwards. As he was travelling backwards Alcides used about half of his strength draw his arrow back and fired it at Arthur's chest. This arrow wasn't meant to end the fight but test the boy's reaction.
Alcides (thoughts): Let's see how he reacts to this.

Alcides was nimble with his reactions and movements, enough to outpace Arthur’s opening assault. As his opponent launched backwards and drew his bow, the prince took the opportunity to regain his composure. More so, he needed to anticipate when the bowman would release his shot. Without hesitation or much time at all, the archer release his grip which sent the arrow towards Arthur. Using his own swift movements, he would arc his back foot backwards in a curve to adjust his body posture. The new form would allow for the prince to successful dodge the arrow as it flew past him parallel to his chest.
“My positioning, it was far too exposed for him to not finish the job.”
As Arthur thought of that, he grew a bit worrisome. Did Alcides not consider him a worthy opponent. The prince would assume a normal, upright stance while gripping Sequence with two hands.
“Sir Alcides! Send your best shots at me!”
As Arthur declared that request, he began assuming the swordsmanship akin to Sir Galahad the Valiant – the fourteenth king of Camelot. It a style that abandon ability for complete overwhelming attack strength.
“These Arrows, they thou not pierce me!”
Arthur uttered those words, confident of the his current mastery with the ancestral sword style.
Post by Herbal Essence on Mar 25, 2018 6:01:52 GMT
Alcides would watch as he saw Arthur arc his back foot backwards in a curve to adjust his body posture. This allowed Arthur to swiftly avoid the arrow fired at Arthur.
Alcides (thoughts): Impressive.
Alcides saw how Arthur dodged the arrow, the young king had no wasted movements when avoiding the attack. That was a decent response, Alcides knew he would have to put in more effort into taking down the young king.
Arthur Pendragon: Sir Alcides! Send your best shots at me!
It seemed like Arthur knew that Alcides was holding back his full power, this much was obvious. While Alcides wanted to fight seriously it was still a training match at the end of the day. Immediately after Arthur changed his up sword stance, Arthur apparently was a master in multiple forms.
Arthur Pendragon: These Arrows, they thou not pierce me!
It seems like Arthur went to full on provocation. Alcides knew what was going on but that didn't matter, Alcides wanted to see what Arthur was made of. Alcides quickly grabbed two arrows and loaded them up before firing them both at full strength, both arrows were aimed for Arthur's mid-section. Alcides repeated them same action right after sending a second wave at the same area.Words: 209
