Not So Great Saiyaman
A lot has happened since Gohan has decided that he was going to be Protecting and Serving the city of New York as the hero, The Great Saiyaman. He has stopped a bank robbery in progress, helped a lost child find his way back home, was in the middle of a war between the pro heroes and the villains during the Class 1-A Exam, and lost a battle to a villain. Sure not all of Gohan's experiences haven't been successful ones, but it definitely inspires him to do better and become more strategic and efficient when it comes to using his quirk.
As time passed, Gohan was able to undergo his own form of endurance training, actively using his quirk for longer periods of time while maintain extreme focus allowing his body to acclimate to the constant stress and focus, that way it would less stamina would be used allowing him to use his quirk for longer periods of time. Also because of that, Gohan would be able to utilize more applications of his quirk during his usage.
Like some of his classmates in the Dawn University, he has rose to where he would qualify for an Internship. What that means is that Gohan would train and shadow with a pro hero in able to better his use of his quirk. Even though he was eligible, Gohan didn't feel like that was a necessity. He thought to himself that as long as he continued on his training then he would be able to become stronger on his own, based off his recent training and his new Abilities he has developed thru the training.
Gohan is now sitting on the edge of a roof. One foot hanging from the edge, the other held back both hands wrapped around it while fingers are interlocked, and his red Cape flapping and flowing in the passing breeze. He ponders how was he gonna be able to test out his new found abilities. Usually shadow boxing and sparring with someone of equal or greater strength but Mr. Piccolo wasn't in New York City. He had to find some other way to be able to put his strength to the test.
Just when thought came to his mind, Gohan was able to see down at the ground of a street alley three guys. Two were together on one side and the other was intercepted by the two. Normally he would instinctively sprint into action but something was different and Gohan was able to notice from the beginning. The lone man, even when outnumbered and possibly outclassed by the other two guys, he never once began to panic. He remain focused, calm and collected. One man drew a pocket knife and the other had brass knuckles. Gohan wondered what the man would do next and looked at the lone man's direction to see for himself.
The Lone man set the bags he was carrying to the side and stood feet shoulder width apart and both of his hands clenched into fist tucked into his sides. The other two thugs took it as a ready stance and in response they charged at the lone man simultaneously. One thug came thrusting his knife while the other came with a straight punch aimed at the face. In response the lone man quickly pushed off the ground with both of his feet tucking them to his torso before releasing a forward snap kick to both of the thugs chin to perform a jumping straddle kick strong enough to cause both of them to be knocked on their backs dazed and disoriented. The combat between them quickly ended making the lone man the clear victor of the fight.
Being the spectator of all that transpired inspired Gohan of what he was going to do to test his new abilities. He decided that he would put himself in a situation when he is out numbered so he could overcome the odds with his own quirk. He believed that a quirk was an extension of himself like the tail of a scorpion, or the claws and fangs of wild cat. If he was able to be victorious over a large outnumber it would definitely show how much he has grown as a hero. But he would have to make sure that he would be able to do so in a legal matter instead of just starting cage matches in the underground. He would have to look for a local gang that he would infiltrate, incapacitate, and extract before testing his limits on them.

To make sure that he wasn't spotted by anyone, Gohan would descend on top of the roof of the hotel while attempting to hide his presence as he stalked the basketball court. What he saw, was a bunch of guys on the court in the middle of a game of basketball. At the bleachers located on the side of the court there was a couple of guys. There was wearing the common unmatched, baggy clothes, and the other was were wearing baggy clothes that were more color coordinated. Also there was an insignia that seemed to resemble japanese Hiragana. The two seemed to had made a quick exchange with just the motion of a quick handshake before cautiously looking around as they departed.
It looked as if something didn't look right and Gohan decided that he was gonna tail him to discover the gang's hideout. As the gang member walked back to the location as he looked around to make sure that he wasnt being followed, Gohan makes sure to follow him by scaling to roofs while deactivating his quirk to make sure that he doesnt draw any unwanted attention to himself. Before you knew it, Gohan was able to see the building the gang member retreated to.
So that's where he was heading to this entire time. Ok, let's see if there is anymore of his kind somewhere else in the city to make sure that I am going after just one person, Gohan thought to himself. At that moment he decided that he was gonna look more towards to the piers to locate someone dawning the same uniform. Gohan heads towards the pier by continuing to scale the rooftops of the buildings to conserve energy and to aid in hiding his presence.
Soon Gohan makes his way to the pier. He stops atop a meat factory next to the metro train bridge. Looking down at street level, Gohan was able to have a good panoramic view. It doesnt take long before he spot another gang member resembling the same color clothing and insignia dealing with a light skinned male with a tank top, blue jeans and some sneakers with one leg on the peddle of his bike and the other on the ground. Just like the last exchange, the two make a quick trade with a swift motion of a handshake before cautiously departing from each other.
Like before, Gohan continued to tail the gang member via scaling rooftops before being lead to the same hideout as before. Something was different then before. Gohan continued to stay and waited before deciding to rush in there. It was after that thought crossed his mind when there was what sounded like loud shouting between two males before a shot of a 9mm ranges in the air before followed by a deafening silence. From there, a makeshift militia evacuates the building in formation with guns in hand.
Well, I guess they know that I'm here. I guess there is no use in hiding when they are already on high alert, Gohan said to himself as he stood tall from crouching against the ledge of the roof. Doing this would reveal himself to the group of thugs with guns that were standing guard. With his cape flapping and flowing in the wind one of the member heard and followed the sounds before pointing out Gohan's location. This prompted the group of gang members to all shoot together to shoot a volley of bullets toward's Gohan. In response, Gohan activates his quirk and focuses it towards the soles of his feet allowing him to generate plasma that he would release in the form of a short burst of stream as he leaped into the sky in order to successfully avoid the volley of bullets that would have damaged him if he didnt perform that split second action.
while airborne, he would extend both his palms out together towards the opponent as he would generate plasma at his palms before Gohan fires multiple beam waves from his hands towards the the group of gang members below by generating and projecting Ionic plasma before releasing a combination of many plasma beam waves, much more powerful than the average beam wave, and fired at a very rapid rate. Upon impact the plasma beams explosion covering a 4 meter surface area greatly causing blunt damage and burn damages to the gang members as they lay with their backs to the ground. Thanks to gravity, Gohan would then descend to the ground before safely making his way into the hideout.
As Gohan makes his way inside, what he seen was a candlelit room adorned with dead animal heads, skulls, and fur pallets. furthest from him was makeshift wooden thrown covered in skin pallets and a man sitting in it with a sword sitting next to thrown exuding dark aura from itself. The moment Gohan noticed the man and his weapon, the man quickly rose from his thrown, grip the scabbard of his blade, gripped the handle of the blade with his other hand before pulling them apart to unlock the blade from it sheath. Doing so release a large shock wave that was followed by a large expansive surge of malice and killing intent and rage.
Gohan knew that fighting with this man, who was most likely the boss of the gang, was not going to be his walk in the park. He was prepared to give his life for this mission. This would prove to himself if he was really Pro Hero material or just a kid wanting to play power rangers. At that moment, The Leader took swordmasters ready stance before appearing before Gohan from his previous location within a split second with the sword above his head for the wind up of a two handed falling vertical swing of the sword.
In response, Gohan quickly raised his left arm between him and his opponent while molding plasma in the form of a double edge piercing blade that coated his knife shaped hand in order to block the strike from the Leader halting the trajectory of his strike. As Gohan stops his strike, with his left leg Gohan tucks it into his torso before delivering a side push kick to the leaders stomach with enough strength to propel him thru his thown and into the concrete wall behind it smashing against it.
Gohan quickly dashes towards his opponent as his opponent recovers his clarity from the crash against the wall. Once within the immediate vicinity of the opponent, Gohan makes a spinning backhand lateral slash of this Ionic Blade. Noticing The Great Saiyaman's strike, The Leader positioned his blade between himself and The Great Saiyaman's Ionic Blade in order to intercept the strike. The Ionic blade cut thru the cursed sword and stops centimeters away The Leaders neck. The Leader was frozen in fear knowing that without his cursed blade he was just a quirk-less human and accepted his defeat as he released the handle of the shattered blade from his grip and allowing to fall on the ground.
Moments later the NYPD were there with their squad cars arresting every gang member that was incapacitated. The red and blue lights flashed in the night sky while the blaring of the sirens ringed in the air. Gohan stood there in his full Great Saiyaman costume waiting to be acknowledged by the NYPD Sheriff but there wasnt much done but a thank you and you can go.
Ugh...Don't you think this type of work deserves a 'we wouldnt be able to handle the situation without you, or, with your quirk you made New York City a safer town?'
Ya mean this little scuffle? A couple of squads could've handled this. This is nothing special. If this is the best that you can handle then we should probably start calling you The Not So Great Saiyaman, since you a far from being the symbol of peace.
That statement hit Gohan like a sack of bricks he has to realized that he still has to get stronger. Now he is able to better handle himself in a scuffle with multiple enemies but the Sheriff was kinda right in a way. If he want to be able to wear the title of Symbol of Peace then he would have to be able to handle the same amount of Villains the way he handled these gang member's. Gohan didnt want to say it but the thought of interning under a mentor would be something that he would need to do to make it to that next level. It seemed that it was time to find a mentor and learn under their instruction to become a pro hero.
