< CRISIS SYSTEM ARRIVED! > The Crisis System has finally be constructed and release to the general public. We encourage people to test out the system and enjoy themselves in drafting grand stories capable of changing the dynamics of the Role-Play World. Understand that the system is new, thus there are some kinks to be worked out that we couldn't due to not having enough man power to test! Make sure to read the rules which are placed in the Rules and Checks section of the RP Boards.
< THE NEXT MAJOR EVENT! > The Next Major Event will arrive starting the first week of Decemeber! Why are we making this announcement so early? Because we want to provide ample amount of opportunity to warn the community to start preparing and testing out their move sets. It will be a faction event once more, which means Heroes vs Villains BUT remember that Vigilantes are now thrown into the fray. It would be utter chaos so stay tune!

*Riiiiiiiiiiiinngggg* "Well, I guess that means it's time" Firesto- no, Jason said as he gazed upon the sprawling campus of Dawn University. For most, that bell meant nothing of any real significance at this point. It was just lost in the usual cacophony that accompanied the start of the school day, something rather routine. For Jason, this meant something just a bit more. This bell officially marked the start of training under the tutelage of Dr Corki, but more importantly, this bell marked the first palpable step in his journey to truly changed the world for the better. Something he couldn't accomplish if he went around blowing everything around him up whenever a bad guy appeared.
Jason reached into his jeans pocket and pulled out a slightly crumpled pamphlet that he must have read and reread hundreds of times by now. The big bold letters at the top of the pamphlet seemingly calling out to him, telling him that this was his next step.
Stumped on using your abilities for Justice? Corki has the answer! Classes start at 8:30 AM MONDAY THRU FRIDAY
He hastily folded the paper back up and shoved it back into his pocket as he realized he had probably been standing out in the courtyard for some time now. "I CAN'T be late for this", He said as he started a brisk run towards the giant double doors of the university. It was 8:25 AM and he had heard that the good doctor was just a bit, well... quirky. And he wasn't looking to find out the depths of his oddities by being late to his class for the first day. Not only that, but this oppurtunity was far too important to him and everything he wanted to achieve to not give this his all.
As Jason (mind a flutter with all that he might face and learn in this new endeavor) made his way to the classroom, he bumped into a woman with short black hair that also seemed to be apart of this new class.
The girl had quickly picked her books up in both arms and made her way past him into the next classroom. When Jason thought about it, maybe he shouldn't have just assumed that this was the time for new adventures and friendships. After all, he had JUST told himself that he had to focus on his studies and becoming a better hero.
As he gathered what was left of his dignity and walked into the classroom, the door suddenly slammed behind him and a bell rang.
GREETINGS CLASS!
A small man came spinning from seemingly nowhere in a swiveling black lab chair into view in the middle of the room. Corki certainly did look, um, quirky... "Maybe thats where he gets his name from?" As the room filed out with the other students coming in, Firestorm noticed all types of people. There were mutants, emitters, and transformation type quirks in the room and it certainly looked like a mixed bag. As Jason made his way to his seat, Corki once again addressed his class and he stood atop the seat he was previously swirling around in.
So so so, I see theres a fresh group of candidates that believe that controlling their gift is the key to unlocking their true abilities
he said as he twirled his mustache, eyes gleaming behind his glasses
A fair thought, in fact in my opinion its a correct thought! But I warn you, if you find yourself here looking to rise up through the ranks of the heroes through use of your quirk; you probably have quite a bit of learning and understanding to do. Most of your quirks are probably complex. Or, you just needed a bit more help than others to control their power.
"THUS! We will start from the very beginning. Under each of your desks you will find 2 textbooks related to Quirk usage. Your first assignment is to go over both of these books by the end of the week. Once you do this you will come back and be subjected to a practical exam on the contents of these textbooks. "
Jason reached into his desk and grabbed the two textbooks, one red, one blue. As he eyed them both up and down he couldn't help but think that while this wasn't the greatest or most impressive start to his career, that this was indeed the start. The start to something great. The books looked to be about 100 pages in length each and were each titled "Mastery of Bodily Chemistry" and "Energy and the Body".
"I know this probably wasn't what you expected at the beginning of this class, but it's important to build from the very foundation just right. I promise you all, if you stick with this and follow these ways, you'll come out of this class a much stronger hero! Now, feel free to get to know each other, leave, or get started with reading your texts if you so desire! I'll see you this weekend. Remember to use your time wisely"
Jason didn't need a second reminder. He was here on a mission, he took his books under his right arm and shuffled off and out of the classroom. From the looks of it, most of the class were focused on the same objective. It kind of made sense considering it wasn't very often you got assigned not one, but two different book assignments for 1 week. Then a test on top of that no less.
As Jason walked out of the building, a bit miffed that he had came this way for only a 5 minute introduction, he sighed. Covering the short distance to the parking lot and getting into his jaguar, he sped off into the evening, determined to accomplish the first goal before him. What Firestorm didn't know, was that someone was watching his actions specifically the entire time.
A nice, conventional start to your Mentor training. I'm wondering who that chick was, and if she'll make another appearance. I'm also curious to know who was watching Firestorm as he left the premises.
Nonetheless, this post marks your First Week of Completed Training.
The break that came stemmed from Jason leaving the classroom extended far past what Jason had thought possible. The Summer Event came, and so did Firestorm's hopes that he would prove himself to be one of the greatest. However, the powers that be deemed it so that a student making a mistake in a situation that created and forced danger was enough to take their ability to compete away. To take their ability to grow away. They would take their connection with the community away.
And when the responsibility was asked to be held on the side of the powers that be?
Censorship. Emotional Outburst. Acts that were unbecoming of a leader. What leader would ostracize a student from his own active community, rather than enacting self control on their part? In a world where the "good" were allowed to abuse their power as they pleased, without so much of a drop of say in anyone else's opinion but their own, Jason would find no justice. The rotten system that be had even told his lawyer to be quiet, and tried to force him to speak, when he had let it be known that he was traumatized by what to him was an extreme betrayal by the system he loved.
Forced back home, disillusioned with the thought of the type of leader that truly sat at the top, Jason wasn't sure what direction he needed to take the next step in, but he knew he had to get stronger to do it. It wasn't long that he had come to this conclusion, than he received a call on his phone from an unknown number
A familiar voice was on the other line, Corki. Jason hadn't known it, but Corki knew of Jason before he had even entered the Summer Event and gained infamy within the league. He had been the one gazing at Jason from afar, having heard about his reputation as a powerhouse as well as a danger. He had watched him quite closely during the event due to realizing that his student was competing against national competition.
You have boundless potential, but you lack control
With a slight edge, Jason growled back
You think I don't know that? That's why I came here in the first place
I understand where you're coming from, but what is done is done. You still owe it to society to master your power for good. The system may be corrupt, but you have the potential to change the system itself!
...You mean, you'll still train me?
Of course! I am an educator and nurturer. I have a duty to the world to bring our youth to the side of good through the use of their quirk. There is clearly good in you, I saw that during your trial and actions before the race. But your power is an extremely unique and dangerous situation. It is a much different issue than that regularly found in my class, and you are much to dangerous to train alongside the normal students, so I can't allow you back into my classroom.
Confused by the last portion of Corki's statements, Jason tried to protest
Bu-
HOWEVER! I will teach you privately, outside of my time as an official Hero Instructor. Your power can be harnessed, but it needs to be done under certain conditions. Understand?
Y-y-yes sir
But Listen Jason, before you agree to this, I have to let you know that this will be dangerous. In order for you to learn to wield your power responsibly, especially in such a way thata will lead you to accomplish those lofty goals, you will have to discover your outer limits. The conditions will be rough, and unfavorable, because that is the position in which you must always believe you will come to be in, when you attempt to change the world. You must become fully aware, that you could undergo fatal risks with the type of training necessary to fulfill your dreams. Do you wish to continue under this path?
This entire ordeal has shown me that the things you say are true. I need to become powerful enough to succeed even when the odds are stacked against me. Even when someone within power is using it to bring me down. These are the things I will come to face when I attempt to right the wrongs in the world. Unlike the current administration, which refuses to take responsibility for it's own actions, the vision I have is a system that holds itself accountable for the conditions it creates, and the people they must guide. So yes, I am ready.
Then I will be sending you some coordinates, be there at 5 AM sharp tomorrow morning. You must rise early, for there is much work to be done and an hour shan't be wasted. See you then. You'll need to get some rest.
Yes sir. I'll be there.
Corki hung up, and Jason became more focused than ever to accomplish his goals.
The next few hours came and went, flying by and Jason prepared himself nutritionally as well as by getting a good night's rest before arriving at the remote location Corki had sent him. As he arrived, he had an extremely familiar feeling within him. He couldn't put his finger on it, but he had felt an aura of the challenges he had faced before.
The location was that of a large compound, owned by one of the professors acquaintances. The compound resembled a large translucent dome, somewhat like a greenhouse that appeared to be equipped all around it with high tech monitors and gadgets. Walking into the dome, Firestorm's mouth became agape as the lights above began to flicker on, revealing the secrets within the dome
Welcome
Corki said, with a bit of a challenging yet inviting tone in his voice
To your first test
The lights revealed a full scale model of The Gauntlet from the past event, yet with bizarre twists and what looked to be much more difficult revamp of the obstacles.
You'll notice there are a few changes here, Jason, but I'm sure you know what you have to do here. As you may have noticed, this is a reimagining of the race that you met your downfall in. You will need to face the things that have brought you down in the past, in order to progress forward to the future.
Corki said as he raised a buzzer that would activate the course
And your first test, will be that at which you faltered.
Corki activated the buzzer, revealing a dense jungle, similar to that of the event, but this time very clearly filled with predators.
You must make your way through this jungle without setting it ablaze. And watch yourself, there are many guests in this house

Nicely done. I really like that your character "re-visited" the area where he failed to overcome his past short-comings. This Post hereby Marks Two Weeks of Completed Mentor Training.
Making his way into the forest, the eeriness of the environment took hold within Jason. Everything was so similar. Even the air felt the same, the sun shone the same, the trees even seemed to have the same number of leaves on their branches. For a moment, in his mind, Jason could hear the crowd and the competition.
He could also feel the ridicule. And the sideways glances he started receiving as a result of these events.
"Gotta snap out of it!"
He said as he shook his head furiously back and forth. He knew that losing his focus and awareness could cause this training to be lost on him. He had to make sure he dedicated every resource within him to becoming better and becoming more skilled with his abilities. If he failed this time.....he may be too far behind to recover........
The first few steps into the forest were tentative, yet without any sort of danger to Jason. It was strange, and somehow the lack of danger only added to how strange and foreboding this carbon copy forest was. Jason continued to wait for something, anything, some kind of obstacle to get past. He began looking from left to right across the forest as he moved in order to scan the area for threats. He began slowing down his pace so as to listen more accurately to his surroundings. He knew that something had to make its presence or danger known....And yet... He progressed onwards and further into the forest, clearing some bramble here and there and having to move the nearest branch or two, but nothing out of the ordinary. For all intents and purposes it seemed as if this was just a normal forest.
"Makes sense"
He thought. Of course it made sense, the forest in the Sports Festival was pretty much just a regular forest that was prone to catching fire when introduced to intense heat. Without actual people to compete against driving him to use his powers under duress, it would have been just a normal run through the forest. Not only for him, but for everyone there. And a normal run through the forest it was, as the exit neared, and the beginnings of the mountains that came afterward began to come into view.
But as he ran something felt odd, he could feel the ambient temperature begin rising around him. It felt so familiar, like one of his techniques actually. And as he tried to continue running, he noticed that he had actually been slowed a great deal. Not only this, but as he had been trying to focus on his surrounding so hard, and had not initially noticed his own slowed pace, he had not notice that the exit of the forest appeared to be further away than when he last looked!
"This can't be"
He exclaimed, even as right before his very eyes the exit stretched further and further away and he seemed to slow down more and more. He didn't even have time to gather his thoughts before he saw what appeared to be a replica of himself deeper within the ever elongating forest. He thought this was a trick of some sort, but the replica of himself seemed to be just as perfect a copy as the forest that he now found himself extremely dazed and confused in. And surrounding this replica were replica's of the other student's from the Sports Festival, equally as perfect in their execution. Jason was thrown into a state of extreme confusion as he tried to process the quickly shifting circumstances and environment. Speaking of which, he forest had extended so far forward that it was as if they had just entered it. And as Jason ran, still slowed by the heat, he saw his replica release his energy into the ground, creating a devastating earthquake that staked him to the ground as it did everyone surrounding him. Jason knew what would happen next, as the earthquake rocked the entire forest and caused multiple trees to fall and the ground to lurch and churn upward in jagged chunks all over the forest. This was Jason. This was his actions in this dreaded forest. The heat, the replica, the earthquake. It all made sense now. Somehow Corki had created an exact copy of the events of the event. Jason surmised that he would have to fight himself or something similar.
It was then that he noticed the sound of massive amounts of earth cracking and moving. Far louder, and far more powerful than what it should have been and making no attempt to mask the fact that it was coming from behind him.
To his horror, as Jason (who was still unable to move very due to the effects of the earthquake) turned his body slowly to see what had caused this monstrous disruption of already down trending events, he saw the forest ground behind him begin to fall away, down and away from the Jason and the group of replicas and into an abyssal void. Jason had no idea how this sort of thing would have been rigged without causing great damage to the outside world, but he also knew he could not exactly ponder on this thought for to much longer. This was due to the fact that the crumbling and falling ground was making its way closer and closer to Jason and the group.
A projection of Corki with a greenish tint appeared in the sky, almost covering the entirety of it. The projection laughed and spoke
"Now you must clean up your mess! Make sure that no one here gets hurt due to your actions!"
It would say before blinking away.
Jason would respond immediately.
He knew not where he found the strength to do so, but he pushed himself off of the ground with all of his might, and willed his legs forward, against the heat and against the shaking ground. And as he drove himself forward, he would aim himself towards the group of students as his replica went forward. Reaching them quickly, he would also use this increase in strength to take the students and place them over his shoulders as he moved forward.
Moving as fast as possible, he began to gain some ground on his copy as well as getting some space on the crumbling ground. For a second, he thought he would be able to soon overtake the copy and complete the challenge as long as he simply went in a different direction.
It was then that he realized that he couldn't have been more wrong.
He wasn't sure how, but he had briefly forgotten what got him here in the first place.
The inferno raged around him, and it was in this moment that this situation ceased being a replica. In the Sports Festival, the event had immediately been called off, the officials came in and rescued everyone. Here there were no medics awaiting. There were no officials to stop those in the forest from harm. And the fire would rage on, spreading fast throughout the jungle.
A loud crack would fill the air around him. Stemming from a large tree directly in his path begging to fall downwards towards Firestorm and the students on his shoulders. The tree resembled a flaming axe, swinging down on them with more and more momentum. Its branches were long, flaming, twisting, and wide, showing the age of the large tree. They spanned a great distance and presented a precarious trap to the group.
Firestorm's eyes would begin to glow with intensity as he looked up towards the incoming hazard. He would analyze the branches and the main tree, searching and using his every sense to try to find a way out. In addition to this quick thinking, he also had to consider the people with him. He knew that whatever he did, he could not allow these people to be hurt. It would be difficult, especially because due to the weight of the students began weight on him, so he knew that making a run for it was definitely ruled out. IN addition to that, the students were wriggling around and screaming. While it was completely reasonable to be panicked, it was throwing off Jason's focus. And focus was something that he couldn't have in short supply in this situation.
Hey! I'm gonna need you guys to quiet down and stop moving. It's not like a hole is just gonna open up in this tree so we can esc-....Wait...
Firestorm would say as he finally stumbled his way into a halfway decent idea. His glowing eyes would project beams of nuclear energy upwards into the bramble that would disintegrate in the face of the powerful blast. Firestorm would be sure to direct the beams so that they created a clean hole large enough to fit the group. But there was still the question of how to actually get out with all of them intact. The time it took to scold the students had left Jason with even less time to make a move. And then he realized something very important.
In the Sports Festival, there were certain rules limiting the moves I could make.
His mind began racing to the intensity of the fire around him, and how this level of danger wasn't something truly felt during those events
But this...this isn't the Sports Festival.
His feet began glowing with a steady and yet powerful energy.
I have no limits here.
Firestorm would then adjust the students in his arms so that he was holding them to either side of himself, and use his energy to thrust himself and the group in the air.
As Firestorm and the group suddenly took flight in a whirl of dazzling flame and glow towards the exit that had been created, he made sure that he used every bit of his focus and ability to get not only himself but the students in his grasp out safe. The danger surrounding them was all too real of a callback to the very real danger that Firestorm not only presented to the public if he were to slip, but the danger he also posed to himself. Had this "simulation" been that day at the Sports Festival, Jason would have not only been responsible for the damages, but there was a very real possibility that he could be responsible for a loss of life as well. As this deep and stunning realization finally washed over the soaring Firestorm, he gripped the students more tightly. He would not let this moment, this time of retribution, slip away from him.
The group zipped through the flaming circle as the rest of the tree crashed down below them and almost shattered into thousands of chips of wood that would arc upwards into the sky. The transition from ground to sky would be immaculate, a true representation of Jason's ascent as a protector and dealer of justice. From the ground, a hellish inferno consumed Jason's surroundings, with flames springing up from nearly all directions as the fire progressed further and further throughout the jungle, truly taking hold of the scene. It was a mass of chaos, heat and fire that would furiously rage on. But in the air, as Jason and the group rose further and further, they would find peace and serenity. Clean air, bright skies, sunshine, and a new oppurtunity. As Jason literally and figuratively rose above his actions, he would feel something that he hadn't felt in a very long time.
Suddenly the clear sky and bright sunshine began to flicker as Jason reached his peak. The fire below would consume the forest and snuff itself out as it ran bare of material to burn. The students that were in his arms would fade away into nothingness, and Jason would land back onto the bare ground, the jungle completely burned away.
CONGRATULATIONS! You have passed the first test
a familiar loud and echoing voice would say as Corki's face once again appeared projected into the flickering and ever vanishing sky, which seemed to be folding inwards on itself.
Sorry that I had to dupe you like that but we had to first get past any lingering mental barriers that you may have had before we went any further. You passed the simulations with flying colors however. How do you feel?
Corki would say as Jason looked around his surroundings. The Sports Festival stadium would likewise fold in on itself, revealing white tile and the beginnings of a large room
Before answering the Doctor, Jason would take in the sight of the land one last time. The fire had burned completely through the forest. It had purified it, burning off any excess and leaving only the clear ground all around. A new start.
The ground and sky would finish collapsing, revealing that Jason was in a large white room, hooked up to monitors and a helmet that seemed to be able to track his movements and abilities in the simulation. It was then that the good doctor would stroll in, grinning from ear to ear
Well?
Jason would slowly remove the helmet, which left him staring face to face with Corki.
With a new mindset, a new perspective, and having paid his penance for his actions, Jason was all the more ready to continue his journey
