The after math of the meeting had shook the very foundation of the lucas family as the family witnessed the fall of not only our leader Frank but the destruction and utter hopelessness of the situation as people from all sides of the family fell in battle. Thankfully the entirety of the family escaped relatively intact yet the moral plummeted people began to question the morals of not only the family but the familys head and in the end began to question my own place within the familys confines, i didnt stick around for the question deciding to take a step back from the inner workings of the lucas family to find something of a more substantial worth to me at the moment...Power. The events of the meeting and my subsequent fainting made it plainly obvious that i wasnt strong enough to make any real difference in that fight much less defend myself from a simple explosion regardless if it was made from two of the top hardest hitters in villain hierarchy, for the first time in years i had felt helpless in the face of real power and that made me sickeningly mad. Power isnt something to come by easy, i know this fact well, however i had the privilege of being born to a wakandan scientist known as Nolan Dax. Nolan Dax, my father, was renowned for his studies in sound based tech and enhanced nano capabilities being praised for something that most wakandan scientists only dreamed of yet even with this scientific breakthrough my father wasn't safe from the prying eyes of the military and, in time, the dogs of war came knocking down on my fathers establishment taking what they want and killing anyone who got in their way including my father. That fate full day my father died was the stepping stone to my path as a villain but not the focus of my journey this time no this time i hunted for the lost technology of my father.
With my fathers creations being seized by a guerilla military unit i had thought his genius to be lost yet just a few months ago i had intercepted an encrypted message being sent to a random person that contained information on tech that correlated to what my father had been working on prior to his death, it seemed whoever had found it was trying to auction the tech off to anyone who would buy it too bad i had different plans. Using my mastery of technology to track down the origin of the message turned out to be fairly easy as in minutes i tracked down the source to a specific spot inside the plains of africa, oddly enough the map showed no hints of civilization for thousands of miles in either direction ringing some warning bells inside my head. I understood the dangers of going into an uncharted place alone with no backup or telling other people of my location yet still i felt the need to go there as soon as possible. Disregarding any notion of carefully examining the situation i gathered all the things i would need for the trip including all of my weapons as i expected some kind of resistance from whoever held my fathers creations, then i made my way towards the marked location.
Fast forward 30 days.
Location: Devils Backyard
It had been 30 days since i had last left my domicile to pursue whoever made the encrypted message as now i find myself in one of the most hostile environments not only in africa but in the world, a place of living abominations and strange ecosystems that could only be so close to other environments thanks to extensive scientific experiments being done in the area in fact due to the direct interference of science most of the wildlife has either been mutated in strange and weird ways or artificially evolved to be better than there common day counterparts. Needless to say this is a highly hostile environment and also highly secretive, this is one of the few Wakandan secrets no wakandan wants the world at large to find out, scientific advancement is what were known for yet nothing can advance without trial and error sometimes those errors are more than we can control so we cover it up. After the events of what we wakandan and call "Exodus" this land had transformed into a variable hellscape leaving the wakandan government no choice but to contain the whole environment by putting a dome around the whole plains and leaving it alone, hoping it would be lost in time. Needless to say the whole place reeked of death, two days spent here had seen me fighting amalgamations only cooked up in a child nightmare, plants that seemed to grow and attack at will, drastic temperature changes that seemed to change in the hour from soul sucking heat to bone chilling cold and all manner of other weird things. Night time seemed to be the most dangerous as the apex predators of the environment came out too play, i never got a good look at what they looked like as i never once stuck around to find out myself. The deeper i trudge into the forest the weirder things become it seems whoever made their base here purposefully made it inside the heart of the plains to use the plains natural denizens and atmosphere as a defense without actually having to make one himself, alot to think about so little time to actually do it.

To pass the time and to keep my sanity in this godforsaken place ive taken the liberty of naming some of the abominations i see frequently, in this case ive run into what i call a "Manticore" a beast that is a shining example of the scientific fuck ups that happened here so long ago, the manticore seems to be comprised of three beasts all in one, human lion and scorpion. The manticore has the body of a lion the face of a human and the tail of a scorpion enlarged to insane proportions yet its most dangerous asset, im just now coming to figure out, is its near human like intelligence. Having come into contact with these beasts before i new a few tricks in how to take it down yet it seems this Manticore proved to be different from the others. Not only is this beast at least twice as fast and strong thant any of the other manticores but it seems it suffered no less in the human intelligence department, correctly targting my vitals and making sure to stay a set distance away from me barring me from using a variety of my techniques, i had thought little of this encounter chalking it off to a tougher than normal manticore before the beast began to speak.
: "aah another human travels the plains, wandering with ought knowing the horrors that await them. Tell me human what did you hope to find in these lands? so many of your kind started showing up after awhile, all of them looking for something within the forest, all of them dying horrible deaths"
I had paused in surprise as the beast spoke human language though this lasted for but a moment before i gave my response.
Me:" Im looking for another one of my kind in these plains, he should be deeper into the plains at the heart of it actually. Have you been there?"
i asked the question with barely contained sarcasm, i had no real expectations for the beast to answer me seriously yet i still asked as a distraction, something for me to buy time as i reached for my blades.
:"No one, beast or man dives that deep into the plains, there are monsters there no soul can beat and you are no different"
as the monster spoke i saw his eyes roam towards my hands currently reaching for their blades, a ferocious smile forming across his face.
:" Foolish child no mere blade can hurt me, ive seen you hurt my brothers in combat. you dont have the skills to kill me but you'll do better inside my stomach!"
me:" Well it looks like i can cut you after all, what happened to being uncutable?? Stupid beast now its time to en-"
I stopped my gloating as i watched the wound of the beast suddenly stop gushing blood and instead produce what i can only describe as some sort of white worm like parasite from the monsters body, in seconds hundreds of the worms congregated on the wound until in just a few moments they had sewn it shut and by some procedure healed the wound entirely. I had been left speechless, sure the manticore is bigger and faster than most of his kind but i never would have guessed he was in a symbiotic relationship with some kind of mutated parasite.
:" Surprised human? i picked up these little pests after my last kill of some of the more... questionable prey in the area. I dont know what they are but with their help ill never die, wounds heal up in moments and my physical fitness has increased by leaps and bounds, against these odds what chance do you stand?"
The monster laughed in obvious glee as it stupidly thought it had the advantage in this situation, that somehow he had become immortal through chance......how stupid. As the monster laughed i made a laugh of my own, laughing at the beasts faulty reasoning and obvious folly oh it would be fun to show him what i can really do.
Me:" Foolish, too foolish if you think i was even remotely serious in my attacks, so you can heal? good for you so can i and you know what? im still confident that when i slice your head off youll stay dead. Now enough talk, come get your punishment mongrel."
After i had said my peace their were no more words exchanged between us only rage and the heat of battle, enraged yet smart enough to remember my reaction times to his first little pounce attack the manticore raised its scorpion tail high above its body, pointing the tip in my direction before spurts of poison shot out from the tip flying towards me at very fast speeds. I hopped towards the right with enough strength to put me of the path of the poison only to be greeted with the face of the manticore mid leap, seemed that first attack was nothing but a distraction a good tactic for beating most foes, pity i wasnt most people. Still keeping a calm composure i once again let my blades unsheathe themselves in a quick 2 fold strike directly under the beasts belly as i used my insane speed to move forward at the same time i slashed until i made it behind the manticore before he could land, the results being obvious as once again the manticores blood stained the grass of the plains and once again those strange worms closed up the wounds in only a moments notice.
me: "Take your time getting up, this will be the last time you can stand at all so enjoy every moment of it"
The monster had nothing to say as the realization that i was a better fighter than him seemed to sink in, from his posture alone i could see the manticore was about to run at any moment... too bad i would never let him get away with that. Before the beast could even move i had already rushed to his side, grabbing my blade and activating its core, covering the blade in flames before once again cutting the beast down in a fluid unsheathing technique only this time the fire from the blade proved to be enough to counteract the parasites healing abilities. I straightened my posture and looked down on the fallen manticores body with a look of boredom.
Me:"What a pity, i thought you would be better thant the rest but it turns out your just a small fry in the grand scheme of things."
With those final words i hurried away from the scene, making sure to avoid the REAL predators of the plains all the while searching for the owner of that message.
