They were on to him. Man oh man was they hot on his trail. Haoquin seemed to be taking the stairs by threes in order to get away from his pursuers. The male usually wasn't one to steal but he alas here he was running away from two men. Well, Haoquin stole from a man who had recently just have stolen as well, Hao watched him from outside the store. Could you steal something that was already stolen? The item he had taken was wrapped up in a bundle so he didn't know what it was. Though judging from its texture it seemed to be a sphere. Luckily they weren't actually the authorities, so Haoquin could be a bit more relaxed. So far the two men have chased Hao down two blocks. He made a last-ditch effort to enter a building and ascend up the stairs. There was a door at the top of the staircase which Haoquin didn't even attempt to open the correct way. Placing a single hand on the door nob, Hao caused it to beat the explode. The rays of sunlight could now be seen as Hao found himself on a roof. He sprinted toward the edge and turned around to face the two men.
"Nowhere to run now. We'll beat the living crap out of you and then take back what is rightfully ours. Any last words before we begin?"
"Your right... there is nowhere to run. Though I can always do this! Now none of us will have it.". Haoquin said as outstretches his arm and crumbles the item he stole from them.
If Haoqin thought the two men were mad before, he would be in for a rude awakening. The tow of them turned toward each other nodding before they slowly began to walk to walk toward Haoquin. The crimson-haired male would slowly back up but found himself with his back against the railing of the building. There was only a slim chance that Haoquin could take on both of these guys at once. The man on the let opened his right hand and a small fireball formed in his hand. The other man seemed to pull water out of thin air and made a whip. -Fuck... these guys are willing to use their quirks too? Damn Hao!- He thinks to himself. Before Haoquin could even think of what he should do, a flaming hot ball of flame was approaching him. Haoquin found himself falling off the building.
On the other side of town, a peddler was getting ready for his morning route. His morning started the same way it always had. First, he tended to his cattle that he kept behind his house. Making sure the chickens had food and water, the cow had rested well, and that the dog had gone out for a walk. After finishing all of that, the male would fill his wagon with bundles of hay and corn and make his way toward Hightown's town center. The peddler sells his goods outside the town center every morning. This was usually enough to get him by to live. Ever since his wife died, and son left home to become a businessman, the peddler does this in order to support himself. Though little did the peddler know that his day would have quite the change to it. He grabs his straw hat and begins to make his way toward his destination.
The peddler exists his house and begins to pull his wagon. Having done this for a few years, the old man was a bit fit. His feet were hardened through all the terrain he needed to cross over. It was about to become evening soon and the peddler needed to get to Hightown before sunset or he wouldn't be able to find his way there. Passing through the Gray Terminal, the old man nods toward the marine guards and continues his way. Passing through Edge Town was always nerve-racking for the peddler because he knew they were some shady people lurking in the shadows. Now he has never had any problems, but he was always liked to be safe than sorry. This time the peddler was stopped by a policeman who wanted to search his wagon. The peddler stood aside and allowed the policeman to do so, before continuing on. He picked up his speed as he took a sharp left into a narrow alleyway and then back out. The Town center coming in view.
The peddler began to become excited as he saw his destination. His walk turned into a run as he began to sing to himself. Money was a great commodity and was essential to him. His singing was attracting views from people, which was okay with the peddler. He was about a block or so away from the town center when he noticed his shoes were untied. Allowing his wagon to drop as he walked a few steps forward as he bent over to tie his shoe. A Heavy thud sound came from the wagon as something slammed into the hay and corn of the wagon. Nobody seemed to notice this, not even the peddler himself. Finishing tieing his shoe, he continued toward the town hall. Setting up his small shop outside.
"I got corn for days... I even got hay!" Shouted the peddler.
A few consumers came over and were interested in buying some. The peddler signaled to the wagon behind them and instructed them to pick out what they wanted. Though as they approached the wagon they all flinched back.
"Sir you have a person in here!" Shrieked one of them.
The peddler raised an eyebrow as he was curious. Creeping toward his wagon and peering over the tip. The peddler instantly dropped as he fainted. Within his barrel of corn, an hay lied Haoquin, rubbing his head from the fall. The peddler looked into his cart with eyes of astonishment. The old man looked around at the other people before looking back at Haoquin. The cart and hay broke his fall and made it so he wouldn't die falling off the three-story building. Though the pain still riddled through his body. The cart, on the other hand, was done for and would fall apart as Haoquin groggily got out of it. Still rubbing and stretching himself out. The peddler, on the other hand, fell down to his knees and cried out loud, sobbing over his cart. Haoquin was going to approach him when out of the corner of his eyes he saw the two men approaching him. Despite there being a crowd of people now, they seemed intent on pursuing Haoquin.
"How could you do this too my cart??? This cart has been in my family for generations and generations. Now how am I supposed to transport my goods? If I wasn't so old I would show you something. Are those your friends over there? Did they help you do this? Just how in the world did you fall off a building?" says the Peddler.
"Listen, old man, I don't have to explain but those guys are bad... I need you to run away as fast as you can." Haoquin whispers to him, as his eyes never leave the duo, who now once again activated their quirks and began to charge.
A fireball was hurled at Haoquin. Last time he was able to narrowly dodge by falling off the building, though this time, Haoquin would force himself and the peddler out the way. The crowd dispersed as they began to run in a crazy dismay. Luckily where they were wasn't a location where a lot of cars passed by. Haoquin pushed the peddler behind him as he looked toward his two opponents, he would have no choice but to fight. "I told you to get out of here... you don't want to be around for when things get ugly," Haoquin says. The peddler nods as he hurriedly begins to run. It would only be a matter of time until someone from the crowd pulled out their cellphone and called the cops..or a Hero to swoop in. Until then Haoquin would entertain these guys. The spectators had seen the two of them throw the first move. Self-defense was all Hao could do at this point.
A torrent of water would be launched toward Haoquin, though judging from its trajectory it wasn't meant to hit him. Following the blast as it was meant with a stream of fire. The two of them would clash causing a steamy veil to form around the area. Haoquin could no longer see past his arm length. Anyone looking from an outside view would see a small dome of mist about the size of a small house. Unless they had enhanced eyesight they wouldn't be able to see what was going on inside. -A fire and water quirk user. Hmm now creating mist. These two really are partners in crime. How am I- the thought was interrupted by Haoquin being smacked in the gut with a club made of water. The Crimson haired male rocked back a bit, only to get a flaming sucker punch to the face. Rocking him over a bit to his left. He wasn't able to see where the attacks were coming from. The two of them must practice this a lot because their movements are so coordinated. Haoquin began to blindly run away from where he previously was but found himself forced back as a ring of fire was created around his feet, halting his movements. Moments later two tentacles of water cam and gripped onto the males hands rendering them useless. The mist died down as the two men could be seen laughing as they walked toward Haoquin. Now those watching would be able to see everything.
"Man... oh man.. its been fun slapping you around. Though it's time for us to end you." They both said in unison. The man with the water manipulation quirk intensified his water tentacles to keep him in place. The other male would create a slightly larger fireball in his hand, smirking toward Haoquin. The vigilante found himself squirming attempting to get out of the hold but it was no use. He turns his head away, only to catch a glimpse of blue and red lights coming around the corner. The police were about a quarter of a mile away from them. Things were going to get sticky if they found Haoquin here. The male decided to work his magic.
"Seems like your rides are here. Have fun." He said.
Th two men looked to see the cops coming toward them and at that moment Haoquin sprung to action. Swinging himself forward he connected both of his feet to the guts of the two men, causing them to be blasted forcefully backward. Haoquin wasted no time as he was released from his hold. With a quick hand slam on the ground, the male crumbled a small portion of the ground below him in order to fall through the ground. Landing into the sewer and beginning to dash along the small walkway. He didn't know where he was going but he was getting away. Although he couldn't beat the two guys, he didn't allow them to hurt anyone or have the stolen item.
The cops arrive at the scene to scene moments after Haoquin vanished. The cops peered into the hole but didn't investigate it. They concluded that it was caused by the two men who were laying on the ground. The two men were put in handcuffs by a cop. One of the other cops came over and began to discuss with the others.
"Seems like these two were seen attacking some other guy with their quirk. Witnesses say they that he created that whole. My guess is he escaped to the sewers. He protected an old man as well. It didn't seem like he fought back." The cop reports.
They all nod and discuss a bit more before leaving. They decided to let Haoquin go but would keep an eye out for him.
