< To Be Announced > TBA
It was a warm sunny morning in New York, home of Dawn University and it's alumni. Asahi, a young man hailing from Wakanda and currently a student at the aforementioned school, decided to go visit one of the many sights the city had to offer. He hadn't really had a chance to do any sightseeing in the city with all the commotion from the Sports festival taking place and the other catastrophic developments that had befallen the newcomer hero. He had decided to head towards the city harbor and get lost admiring the vastness of the sea which reminded him of the many nights he had spent with his mother admiring the lack of boundaries space had to offer. In his mind, this was his own way of paying tribute to her memory and praying for her safety.
To his amusement, despite the early time of his arrival, the harbor was filled with joyous people traversing its decks. Numerous boats progressively arrived, men dropping to deliver some goods before rapidly disappearing back into the distance. The high energy in the bay was contagious causing Asahi to jump into the fray; he advanced through the beaten path, helping the workers here and there but majorly keeping his distance to process the bigger picture; hundreds of people moving in conjunction to bring the port to life. Asahi chuckled to himself, seeing the irony. "People giving off their own light signature, painting an otherwise dead scenery into a chaotic yet incredibly soothing sight; this feels a lot like stargazing to me."
As the event ended. Haseo wasnt surprised about his placement, but what he was surprised about was the events that took place. It seemed as if people were more concerned about "winning" than actually saving "Civilians". Was this what Heros actually were? Haseo was conflicted. Not by his choice and his path, but those who choose the same path as himself and claimed the same morals as himself, yet showed it different through actions. Haseo deciding that before he heads home to California, he would visit the dock. Get some type of peace.
As He walked up to the dock, early in the morning, he spotted several people. It was strange cause back home he wasnt used to people being up so early, but it is essentially a different culture Haseo thought. The early bird gets the worm. Drifting his eyes into the vast amount of water. Thoughts drifting to how he missed home. Having enough he turned around, prepared to head to the airport for an early departure until he caught a glimpse of somebody he recognized. It was one of the people from the event that was previously held, and actually he was one of the people in his squadron. Maybe it was just a west side thing, but Haseo didnt favor the schools in New York, maybe it was a rivalry or something didnt fit so well with Haseo. So Haseo decided to walk up to the guy.
Tsk! I dont want to start any drama, but why is it that you became a hero? The heros in new york seem to be different from the ones back home. Heros here seem to be wolf in sheeps clothing.
Whilst strolling through the bay, a man who seemed to have materialized out of thin air appeared before him, making Antares jump. The man didn’t even so much as introduce himself before handing out some harsh criticism about New York heroes and questioning Asahi’s motives to become one. Asahi rattled his brain, knowing he had seen this person before when it finally hit him; a participant of the Sports festival whose name he couldn’t remember for they hadn’t interacted much, if at all.
Taking a moment to collect his thoughts and calm his racing pulse, the hero stemming from Wakandan origins stood his ground yet answered in a relaxed, peaceful tone. “A hero is meant to be a deterrent for crime. A pillar of hope the common citizen can put their faith in. I strive to hopefully be half the hero my mother was and to usher society into an era of peace and progress.”
Asahi had asked himself that same question repeatedly growing up so his answer seemed to roll off his tongue without much intervention from his brain. Those were his true feelings and he knew he was perfectly capable of achieving his dreams.
“With that being said…How noble is your cause that you dare judge others without knowing their story?”
Haseo heard the man speak but he wasnt so sure he believed the words of the man. The Sun continuing to rise as the hard workers continute to work. Seems like more people came out to work. I guess this was the life of non-heroes but not everybody is meant to be a hero. The atmosphere was pleasantly peaceful. Waiting a bit to let the mans word soak in before Haseo deciding to fully answer.
"Noble? I dont think I am more Noble than you, but Im not pretending to be somebody I'm not. You say you want to be the mother was. Im actually looking for my parents here in the States. Im originally from Greece, but I easily adapt.
As Haseo said this he looked out into the dock, for some odd reason he dazed off back to his days back in Greece. He cant lie, he did like the States way better and even made more friends, Specially his good Friend Eli, back at HD. Putting his hands in his pockets, he actually forgot that he received a letter. Taking it out of his pocket, he look at it as he look at the person before him.
I dont know why I'm telling you this, but the Brigade Focus saw my performance in the latest event and Invited me to their agency. Im honestly thinking about it, cause I heard the founder is pretty strong and even an amazing mentor. Im sure I can utilize the resources... Anyways enough about me, Ive never tested the true strength of the people from NY. Show me just how strong you guys are. Lets give these hard working people a nice show
"Humph! That'd be reckless of us and we'd get into trouble," said Asahi, directing a scolding look at his fellow hero student. "However, I could definitely use the training. There's a deserted part of the bay where we can do this, the garbage dump."
He turned around, squinting his eyes to discern the location he was referring to in the horizon and vividly pointing at it for this person to notice as well. Antares was aware of the pollution problem in New York and of the government's incompetence to correct this predicament. The site had grown inhabited throughout the years and was home to many street fights as well as illegal activities. He had been meaning to pay a visit but the festival and other school activities had occupied his time in NY. Facing the man once more, Asahi's eyes burned with passion and competitiveness yet his emotions never strayed from his ideals. "Let's tackle this confrontation as heroes. This fight will only take place under the mutual agreement that we'll proceed to give a helping hand to the city by remodeling the garbage dump. We will use the terrain for battle and lay the foundation for a prosperous part of the bay. That's my condition."
Haseo heard the man speak, and was enlightened by the proposal he stated. No matter who won or lost we was going to help out the people. Haseo didn't mind taking up that deal.
Slowly gazing at the area this person had set out for him and his opponent to clash. Slowly touching the hilt of his sword attached to his back, while looking over his shoulder at the people in the area starting their day. It made Haseo feel better seeing the laughs and smiles as they worked. Haseo turning his attention back to his opponents location, Haseo launched over to the deserted area. Not even waiting for his opponent, not even knowing if his right behind him or not.
Reaching the dump part of the bay, taking his last step with his right foot sliding slightly on the ground, while releasing a brief smirk. Turning around he sees his opponent right there. He didn't expect anything different from Heroes in the same class as him.
"Heh. Sounds like a plan to me. Lets not prolong this anymore shall we. The people of this bay needs helping"
As Haseo says this quickly drawing out his sword, still a smirk on his face as he quickly dash towards his opponent. This was about to be a battle to remember.
Hearing the man agree to his proposal excited Asahi, who couldn’t help but smirk. He had been looking for some redemption after his performance in the Sports festival and it seemed he would have the opportunity much sooner than he expected. As Haseo turned around and dashed towards the son of Leona, Asahi turned his quirk on. The fire from his corona would swirl downwards, engulfing his body in a wild storm of fire. “Let us begin, then.”
A small, controlled burst of fire is released from the soles of his feet, advancing forward at alarming speed. As the distance between the two combatants grew smaller and smaller, Asahi slowed down to be able to react to his opponent’s move. However, in reality, this was all a ruse to provide a distraction from the gravity that would entrap anyone in Asahi’s vicinity and force them to remain in his close range.
“I don’t know what his abilities are, for he didn’t show any prowess in any of his tasks in the Sports Festival nor displayed any physical skills out of the norm. I should be wary of his movements for now, the last thing I need is to fail once more due to a silly mistake.”
