The sight of a full moon never amazed Haoquin like it did tonight. Taking a hit form his cigar, he male exhales until the smoky veil clouds his vision. At the moment Haoquin wasn't sure where he was. He had taken a rowboat off the coast of Florida and began to drift. Strangely enough, he was able to get past the coast guards without a hitch. It had been about two weeks since he had mt up with Genesis and not a day went by that Haoquin didn't think about their encounter. His old gang could honestly care less about him and what he stood for. -Hmm..after all we been through too eh? You would think they would have some remorse. Sure I disbanded the gang but in reality, I was doing them a favor. I guess I was the one that left the gang. Man, I wonder if this is how depression feels like.- He thought to himself. The body of water around him was quite still and the so was the rest of the night. The male leaned over the boat and ran his hand through the water just to get a feel for it. It was cold but not too cold. The thought of going for a swim crossed Hao's mind but something distracted him for a moment. Out of the corner of his left eye, he saw a faint glow. It was only for a moment but there was no mistaking it. -Looks like I'm not alone out here.- He thinks to himself as he stirs the boat in the direction he saw the light come from.
Haoquin seemed to have been rolling for what seemed like hours on end. He hadn't come across anything other than water and the occasional sound the oars hitting the boat. Could Hao just had been imagining things back there? Clearly, he couldn't be the only think out here. The male put the oars aside and laid down into the small boat and just stared at the night sky. A calming sensation washed over him as he felt like the world had come to a standstill. Taking another hit from his cigar, he noticed the air around himself began to become foggy. It wasn't the smoke from the cigar because it wouldn't last this long. The crimson-haired male sits up and begins to look around His vision is clouded by a thick veil of fog. Slowly standing up the male turns in a full circle to take in his surroundings. His hand shot toward his nose to cover it as the foul stench of the area overcame him. Just where was he now? He takes s bandana out of his pocket and ties it around his face so it can cover his nose and his mouth. With three of his visions under attack and the fourth basically useless in this situation, Hao would have to rely on his sense of hearing in order to pinpoint any danger coming his way. For now, he remained in a low knelt position with his hands slightly above the bottom of the boat. Any moment now something would come forward. Though what actually approached wasn't something that Haoquin had expected.
A large lurking shadow appeared by the boat. Haoquin's head instantly snaps in that direction in order to get a better look. He couldn't make out exactly what it was but if he had a guess, it would be a wall. It was close enough that he could reach out and touch it. His boat seemed to stop as well, despite the water remaining the same. Nothing out of the ordinary could be heard at the moment. Haoquin decides to reach out and feel the texture of the shadow. It was smooth and flat. Though the longer Haoquin left his hand there the colder it got. Moving his hand away the male decides to annihilate the thing. Forming his right hand into a fist, Hao began to focus his energy into this one point. In one fluid motion, Hao would swing his arm back and launch it forward. Moments before his hand was going to collide with the shadow, a harpoon was launched at him! The harpoon seemed to be aimed at his chest, judging by the trajectory. Though Haoquin was able to switch the course of his hand and instead grab the tip of the harpoon. He managed to escape with only a light scratch. Using the same energy, Haoquin sends it toward the lower half of his body as he springs into the air just as another harpoon crushes the small boat he was on. Haoquin continued to rise alongside the shadow until he landed on top of it. The mist cleared and his vision wasn't so clouded. He took in his new surroundings once more only to find that he was now standing on the railing of an abandoned ship. The shadow he saw and touched was the side of the ship. He glances around some more until his eyes lock on two individuals. The first was a teenage looking girl who was tied up to the mast of the ship helplessly with tape over her mouth, while the second person was a turquoise skinned male who had another harpoon in his hand ready to launch at Hao. He was dressed in pirate attire and was steering his ship with his other hand. What had he gotten himself into?
A nasty snarl came out of the man's throat before he spoke."Argh.....You must be one of em tax collectors my land friends been talkin to me bout eh? Well let me' tell ya somethin. I'll neva surrender my precious treasure to the likes of ya. I'll slay ya where you stand." He says before hurling another harpoon at Haoquin. Though just as quickly as he hurled it, another appeared into his hand. Haoquin fight of flight reaction kicked into play and the male jumped off the railing and onto the deck, nearly missing the harpoon. Haoquin decided to go along with the male. "Yea... I am the Head Tax Collector and I have been ordered to come to take what you owe. While you're at it you can release that girl over there too." Haoquin said as he pointed to the gril. The turquoise skinned male laughed a bit. "Release her? She is to be my new wife. The pirate life gets awfully lonely ya know? Ever since my crew died at sea... I've been on me own. I won her from a human poacher in Australia. Now Mr.Tax Collector I'll give ya one my try to get hit by me harpoon or i'll have to get serious." He says before another harpoon came at him. Haoquin clapped his hands, creating a concussive blast to intercept the harpoon before it got to him. "Sorry but I have no plans of getting impaled today. Though you've given me no choice." With that being said, Haoquin sprinted toward the male. Throwing off his cloak to reveal his suit, The Shackle Regalia. Closing in on the guy, Hao outstretched his hand toward his chest in order to blow him away. Though before his hand even was able to make contact, Haoquin was flung away from the man. The crimson-haired vigilante found himself tumbling across the deck. A light grunt could be heard from him as he tried to get up but found himself being pinned. Looking around himself, he would see a thick, slimy, purple tentacle wrapped around his left ankle. "Ah Halston has come out to play. Ya see Mr.Tax collector allow me to introduce me self. My name is Dredge, but to those who sail the seas, I am known as Green Beard. I am none to be the most terrifying sea creature in these waters. Even the loch ness monster doesn't tread around me. With my quirk, Deep Sea, I rule the water and all in it. It was a gift from my father Poisdoen. There isn't a way to defeat me while on water. Now you have two choices. Become my first mate and sell ye self to me, or die. Choose quickly though, Halston is very hungry."
Haoquin remained silent for the time being. He needed to find a way to get himself and the girl off this ship. Of course, he could just annihilate the ship, but with having recently learning about Green Beard's quirk. Being in the water couldn't be good. Being this guy's first mate wasn't exactly the most ideal thing but it would be the safest route. Haoquin reached into his suit and pulled out a small object. He looked toward Dredge who had already formed another Harpoon. -I can't believe I am doing this.- He thought to himself. In a quick motion, Haoquin raised his arm in the sky and clicked the trigger of a flare gun. The flare rose high in into the night sky. Though in that same moment, Dredge through the harpoon and it landed right in the forearm of Haoquin's arm, cauing it to fall limp and for blood to begin to flow out. His vision began to go dark before he slipped into an unconscious state. "Now who could he possibly try to single wit that flare gun? Nobody is coming to save him, we are miles out in the middle of nowhere. Dumb Tax collector." Dredge said as he whistled and a group of sea otters flipped onto the deck and ushered Haoquin inside one of the rooms. Dredge turned the wheel on the boat, clockwise in order to steer it around and sail back. He glances downward toward the girl and removes the tape from her mouth. "Looks like we'll have some company now." He taunted. The girl gave him the worst side eye before responding with. "Go to hell!"
A strong hearted laugh could be heard across the sea. "Davy Jones' locker is my home!"
