The rich fragrance of Nag Champas lingered within the particularly dim lit room as light screens of wispy silver grey smoke curled and danced their way through the thick, hazy air as if excited to escape the miniscule churning flames which casts them. Within the confides of the candlelit infirmary, lay several incapacitated individuals, stretched across their cots as if they were deathbeds, whomst also served Izanagi. The ferocious leader of the newly congured Talon Organization stood undetected alongside Marrow, monitoring the young villains state of being from the shadows. The entire setting would appear eerie and ominous, juxtaposed to the peaceful and relaxed energy in which the room was intended to radiate.
Kevin, also known as Marrow, awakens from his unconscious condition, opening his confused eyes narrowly with hopes of piercing through the encompassing darkness.
"Am I in heaven or hell?", The teenager sarcastically questioned as he swivels his head from side to side in order to find hints leading towards the answers he sought after, simultaneously wincing in agony due to the nature of his injuries from battle. He only had a few, non life threatening lacerations caused by his opponents in battle compared to that of his comrade. On the cot to the left of the teenager boy, lied the Fishman named Kusanagi, still knocked out cold from his injuries which included deep lacerations from sharp metal objects and massive fluid loss. His surprisingly crimson blood would be seeping through the plethora bandages, which proved to be ineffective against the life threatening injuries.
"Neither...We are all right back where we started. " Izanagi uttered as she stepped out of the shadows, revealing herself to Marrow as she paces towards his cot.
The Talon organizations leader, was sporting a new , colder stare in her eyes, leagues deeper than her seemingly natural mean mug from before the battle royale in Little Italy. Marrow knew right away that their had to be something more than her new addition of battle scars that was eating her alive from the inside. Maybe it was the crushing weight of defeat, accompanied by the sight of her old acquaintance that was driving her insane. Marrow couldn't quite put his finger on it since he was preoccupied with his own power struggles and possible already knocked unconscious throughout the majority of the duration leading up to the climactic and final moments if the war.
She stretches her cold hand forwards, caressing his scarred face before abruptly squeezing his cheek bones with a painfully tight grip for a couple of seconds
" And you'll end up right back where I found you...tossed right back into the streets and alleyways like the low class grunt you're portraying. If you let me down again, I will make you suffer for it my boy."
The witch said before letting go and taking a few steps back. She then began briefing him on his next and possibly final mission for Talon.
Black clouds sprawl across the sky, billowing in from the west. Their brassy glare drains colour from houses and trees and burnished cars in driveways, leaving neighbourhoods tinted bronze in the faltering light. The air grows heavy and the humidity presses down, suffocating. The scent of rain is dark and heady. A stillness falls over the street, and in the silence comes a low crackle of thunder, rolling across rooftops to the pattering of tiny raindrops. For a moment, everything stops. Even the wind holds its breath. A streak of hot silver splits the sky, and the downpour begins.
In the midst of the thunderous storm, stood a determined Marrow, scouting the target area in search for surveillance cameras and security guards vigilantly watching over the premises. He kept a safe distance between himself and the building as he waited for the perfect time to infiltrate the New York Presbyterian Church, aiming to remain undetected throughout the duration of his mission .
The night would still be relatively young, yet after approximately two hours of watching and waiting, his predatory-like stalking would have finally paid off. Marrow had keenly taken notice of the number of patrolling security guards and surveillance cameras, what time their vision would reach different specific points, and how often the guards left their post to give each other breaks.
After Marrow had memorized nearly every aspect of the hospitals security measures, the time to initiate the latter objectives briefed onto him by Izanagi, had finally came about. Without further ado, Marrow would begin to tiptoe towards the hospital, being sure to remain hidden by traversing through the stretches of encompassing darkness known to the general public as the shadows. Just as the nearest armed patrolling security guard would aimlessly stroll around the corner of the buildings perimeter, Marrow would activate his quirk and manipulate his body structure in order to allow himself to grow a pair of massive bat-like wings and take flight as if he were Jeepers Creepers. As the villain launched himself into the air, he'd maneuver in a way that would allow him to peer into the multitude of illuminated windows swiftly as he scaled the building from a variety of angles and directions, skimming to find either one of his targets in ample time to prevent the Talon members from succumbing to death due to their grave injuries acquired during the great underworld war.
After about half a minute of searching, Marrow would see nothing more than a variety of patients in their rooms partaking in the usual patient like activities, such as watching television or sleeping, so he decides to flap around the corner to a congruent side of the same structure. Upon doing so, he'd immediately take note of the large number of offices populating this particular wing. During his deep search, Marrow would just so happen to catch a glimpse of a janitor mopping the floor. Growing tired of searching for the particular surgeon, Marrow figured it would be best to simply siphon information from the custodian. He was the janitor right? So he'd have to know the whereabouts of everything on Marrow's list. Without wasting anymore time, the villain smashes directly through the window, flying at high speeds directly towards the janitor. He grabs the elderly hispanic man by his throat with crushing force, causing him to drop his wooden mop onto the cold card tile floor, before driving his back into the wall, knocking the wind out of the geezer.
"I have a few questions that I believe you have the answers to. Your willingness to comply will determine your fate." Marrow said as he tightened his chokehold and began to lift the man's feet off the ground.
After extracting the desired intel from the janitor and leaving him on death's doorstep, Marrow would immediately regress his wings back into his body and advance towards the basement in order to find the generators by taking the emergency stairwell route . From his own personal experience, no one ever took the stairs, so he decided that this was the best course of action for him to reach his destination whilst remaining undetected by the hospital staff. The villain careened down the stairway at blazing speeds, one level after another until he reached the basement, where he'd burst through the locked door , sending the door flying off the hinges and slamming onto the cold concrete floor. Upon locating the sources of power for the Hospital, the villain would enlarge his right arm and fist before punching straight through both of the machines in rapid succession, using his brute force to crush the machines and causing them to break in order to induce a localized black out within the hospital.
Upon knocking the lights out, Marrow would open his book bag and unpack his night vision goggles before equipping them and heading straight back up towards the higher levels of the hospital, where the surgical operation rooms could be found, along with the specific surgeon he was supposed to abduct...according to the janitor whomst he had hemmed up earlier. As he raced back up the stairwell, the sound of three security guards simultaneously marching down the seemingly endless flight of stairs.
