Los Angeles was even more befuddling during the night-time. Despite the thousands of different electrical lights illuminating the streets, Eli found it nearly impossible to find his way home from classes at such a late hour. As often was the case, Eli had become lost in this large city. "That's what I get fer stayin' late to practice," Eli muttered to himself, kicking at a rock shamefully down the sidewalk. He huffed a sigh of self pity before setting his mind to figuring out where exactly he had wandered off to this time. "Let's see... this road seems familiar, let's try that one." Speaking to himself seemed to calm his nerves when attempting to navigate, so Eli often would be caught saying whatever came to mind. "I think I recognize that tree... no, wait, that was closer to the school. Agh!" It was embarrassing that this tactic often had no impact on the result of his scouting.
While racking his brain for clues that would lead him home, Eli spotted a large area in the distance that was barricaded, gated off from the rest of the buildings. "Wonder what this place is?" Eli questioned, identifying several signs posted upon the fencing that divided the street from the site. It was clear, even in the darkness, that this was a construction site; upon further inspection of the signage, Eli was able to determine that the construction had been put on hiatus, as the workers were on holiday. "Typical. If ya wanna get somethin' done, ya gotta do it yerself." Eli chuckled as he remembered having to help with several local government projects back home.
Something broke his recollection suddenly, however; a pair of faint, yet highly pitched, voices rang out from the center of the construction location. Eli could have sworn he had heard one say "You'll never find me here!" and another voice reply, "Come on, we'll get in trouble!" The pitches and dialogue instantly alluded to the owners of the voices being children, which was troublesome in it's own right. Children should be in bed at this hour, and certainly not playing around in abandoned work-sites! The voices were recognizable, which Eli found odd, especially considering his short time here in California. Eli read the signs more carefully posted on the fencing: 'Danger! Unstable Work-site!' and 'Keep Out - Construction Zone' littered the barrier every few feet or so. Entering this area was certainly not a good idea, but if there were children playing in such an unsafe environment, it was Eli's duty to escort them away from danger. Peeking to his left and right to avoid any onlookers, Eli pulled open the gate and crept inside.

Ah Gou:"Nine-hundred and Ninety five - Nine-hundred Ninety Six - Nine-hundred Ninety Seven - Nine-hundred Ninety Eight - Nine-hundred Ninety Nine - One Thousand!!"
Ah Gou was finishing the last reps of his daily work outs. For someone like him, he needed to stay in peak condition physically in order to achieve the physical feats he aimed to reach. The gym had been closed for about 15 minutes now and the owner seemed to be getting agitated as usual due to Ah Gou working out past closing hours.
Owner: "Ya damn gym rat..... I gotta get home to my family Ah!! You'll have to go home and shower. All my equipment is shut down. I'll give you about 3 minutes to get out man. I'll be outside waiting to lock up"
Ah Scoffed at the man, though he was glad the owner liked him enough to let him train after hours. The old man was one of the only ones that "knew" Ah and maybe sympathized with his ways. Ah packed up his small bag and tossed it on his back, walking down the street in his usual attire; Black sweats, no shirt and his red scarf around his neck. As he was walking he couldn't help but continue to think on how he can grow. The world was growing more and more with powerful heros and villains, and Ah Gou knew he'd have to be uniquely skilled to cleanse the world.
With these thoughts running through his head, Ah thought he was simply imagining something for a moment so had to stop and observe. Out of the corner of his eye, Ah thought he spotted a uniform from one of those hero schools that trained teens to be "Good heros". Ah scoffed at the thought of a good hero while changing the gravity directly around himself. This lets him defy the laws of gravity itself and levitate/fly on a whim. Using this, he "leaped" over the gates that weren't supposed to be entered and saw that he indeed wasn't imagining things. There he was. A full blown student of a hero academy.
Ah Gou: "Yo, runt.... You're trespassing, clearly. Don't you think that's a bad look for your school... For a 'hero'? Why don't you try upholding the law.."
Ah Gou spoke with irritation in his tone and his fists clenched tightly. He was ready to steal on this kid at this point.
The combination of darkness and the unfinished concrete structures created quite the labyrinth for Eli to maneuver. His eyes did their best to adjust to the low light by way of pupil expansion; Eli found himself taking in short, shallow breathes as well. Something about the place had an air of anticipation, as if there was about to be trouble any moment.
"Yo, runt... You're trespassing, clearly. Don't you think that's a bad look for your school... For a 'hero'? Why don't you try upholding the law..." A voice clearly sounded behind Eli as he was sneaking around, as loud as a normal conversation would be, but with Eli's heightened awareness he jumped at the sound. His body reflexively pivoted to face the accuser, shoulders tensing and fists clenching. He had been caught! I knew it wasn't a good idea to come here, Eli instantly regretted his decision, but he was here now, so he was going to find those children.
After a short moment, Eli let down his guard and rubbed the back of his head, embarrassed. "Oh, hi. Uhm, yeah you're right, I pro'bly shouldn't be here, but I coulda swore I heard some kids playing around in here and, well, ya know, isn't that dangerous?" Eli rambled in defense of his situation, hoping his accuser would understand and not call for the authorities. After his trip in New York, another spot on his record was the last thing Eli needed.
"Actually, I could use yer help if ya don't mind. Th'name's Eli." Eli extended his hand toward the young man out of habit, hoping to gain an ally in this little search of his. "I haven't seen you around here before, are you a student at Horizon College as well?" A smile reached across his face, showing the good disposition that Eli was known for back in his hometown of Shelbyville. It was his tendency to assume the best in people, regardless of circumstance, until proven otherwise; this gentleman was surely only doing his due diligence as a citizen and making sure everyone was following the rules. Surely he would understand Eli's predicament!
Ah Gou: "Shut it with the damn excuses, you're pissing me off!!!"
Ah shouted with visual anger on his face as he did so. This is exactly why he despised heroes all together. The opposing man wondered about Ah Gou and not seeing him at school before. This only made Ah remember why he dropped out of his first hero academy a few years prior. The hero system was a flaw in all, and everyone who chose to be a hero were bound to fail at true justice.
Ah Gou: "So you think that because you may or may not have a 'hero' situation on your hands, you could break the law? Not only that, but you don't even seem sure about what you heard.. What if, which is most likely the case here, there isn't any children in the area? Then you're simply breaking the law on a whim. Yet you seek to be a hero? Heros uphold the law idiot...."
At this point Ah Gou was prepared to teach this dude a lesson and he was finding it hard to fight back the urge to do just that. He'd began walk towards the man, his bare feet clapping against the cold floor. Without any other signs of aggression, Ah Gou attacked. He'd use the same ability as before to fly, but this time he simply increased his overall speed levels. This would seem as if Ah Gou simply had abnormal speed, having nothing to do with a gravity related abilities. He'd close in on the man in a moment's notice, delivering a swift low uppercut to the guys abdominal area with his left hand. This lifted him off the ground a bit as Ah Gou stared him in the eyes and spoke...
Ah Gou: "Pitiful 'hero'.... Maybe you aren't fit for the position in any shape or form..."
It didn't take very long for Eli to realize that he wasn't dealing with the most calm individual. This shirtless young man yelled at Eli to quit with his 'excuses,' to which Eli was genuinely confused. What exactly was he making excuses about? As the man went off on a tirade, Eli could hear the creaks and groans of the large, metal fabrications behind him, crying out due to the humidity. This place is clearly dangerous, why can't this guy see why it's important to find these children? Eli thought to himself while he was being berated by the young man. Event through what some would call verbal harassment, Eli found it easy to stay collected, silently listening to the angry words of his accuser.
"Heroes uphold the law, idiot..." This simple phrase was enough to break Eli's zen-like state. "Now hold up. That's exactly what I'm trying to do here! Not only uphold tha law, but escort these kids to safety!" Eli verbally defended his position, motioning to the area behind him where he had heard the voices recently. It was obvious by this motion, however, that there were no children in eyesight, causing his defense to fall flat. "Well they're here, I know it." Eli insisted, certain of his conviction.
Before he knew it, the man approached Eli, his bare feet advancing across the rough concrete. He could really injure himself out here without proper footwear... Eli couldn't help but show concern for this man, despite his current situation. Not a moment later, Eli noticed a pick up in speed from him; the distance between the two of them was closed in the blink of an eye, and a fist was thrust into Eli's gut with a brisk force. Luckily for Eli, his body had learned to react on it's own due to his intense amount of training at school, and he was barely able to catch the punch with both of his hands mere inches away from his sternum. The strength behind the blow was inhuman, as the assailant lifted Eli's entire body off of the ground with the one attack. Eli reflexively vaulted backwards from the position in mid air by pressing his weight against the fist intended for his stomach, sliding across the pavement when he landed.
"That punch... yer a Quirk user, aren't ya?" Eli questioned the young man before assuming a defensive stance. He certainly didn't want to fight here, in this decrepit location. Weighing his options, Eli decided the best thing to do would be to decline the invitation for combat. He turned his body and ran into the work site, hoping to find the children quickly before this man would chase after him. He turned his head as he ran, yelling back to the man, "I don't have time fer this! I'm going to find those kids because it's not safe here, you should leave too!" Eli hoped that his advice would fall on receptive ears, because a fight in this environment could prove to be disastrous.
Ah Gou didn't understand the man. He genuinely seemed to think he was upholding the law by trespassing for some reason. It was cleas as day that the University was steering these students in the complete wrong direction.
Ah Gou: "You understand how pathetic you sound right? Eli was it? In what world is it 'law' to stray out into private property to feed your little hero ego? Yeah - none...."
Ah Gou had closed in at this point to deliver his punch, which seemed like it would land effectively. But to Ah Gou's surprise, the University has seemingly trained him to physically react even to something enhanced by a quirk... Feeling Eli's hands grip his fist before it could land, Ah Gou chuckled a bit under his breath knowing that he had caught Eli where he wanted him. With Eli catapulting himself back from close quarters combat and landing at a safe distance, Ah Gou ignored his questions about being a quirk user.... He'd personally know very soon.
You see, when Eli had caught Ah Gou's fist from the initial attack, Ah Gou used the direct physical contact to place a technique onto Eli. This technique had the ability to directly effect the gravity surrounding Eli, creating a "Gravity Well" around him and making him the center of gravity.
Ah Gou: "You're the only one in danger, Eli..."
While Eli was in the middle of running, just around when he finished his sentence, the gravity well kicked in. Eli immediately became the center of gravity, thus creating a powerful pressure on his movements to slow him down and even halting his movements all together. Unkown to Ah Gou though, kids were definitely present inside the building and he had just put them in danger. With Eli acting as the center of Gravity, all the loose materials and the loose foundations of the building would begin attracting towards him. The building would instantly rumble a bit, leaving stray debris to fall and loosen around the area.
Eli was mid-step when the effects of his adversary's technique kicked in. In an instant, his body shifted from a state of complete normality to a sluggish, stagnant struggle for even the smallest movement. It was as if his entire body was being pulled inwards, somehow drawing his limbs to himself like metal to a strong magnet. Eli grunted as his attempted to keep running, but eventually realized it was futile; whatever Quirk this person had, it wasn't speed based like he had assumed prior. "Wha- What is this? Why is my body acting this way?" Eli spoke aloud, trying to deduce a logical explanation to his predicament.
Moments later, Eli noticed other strange happenings that would clue him into what was happening with his body. As he stood between two unfinished structures, he could hear the groaning of steel and crackle of broken concrete. It was much more pronounced than before, and the noises seemed to amplify as time continued. Eli peered around at the two different buildings, noticing small flecks of cement were somehow floating toward him, hovering mid air. Within a minute, several small pieces of debris were hovering around Eli, forming a small circle of satellites. Eli's ears perked up at this, a revelation revealed in his mind: he had become a center of gravity somehow! A normal citizen might not have known the effects of gravity to this extent, but with Eli's Vectors Quirk he had made sure to study applied mathematics extensively, becoming somewhat of an expert in the topic. His attacker didn't know this, however, so on the outside Eli continued to act dumbfounded and aloof.
Eli though it best to address the young man, to learn as much as he could. "Who exactly are you anyway? Why are you trying to attack me instead of helping those children? Are you a Villain of some kind?" Eli began to question the man while calculating trajectories in his head. He had a plan to counter attack, but it would require a little more time and some set up, so he stalled with the only thing he had at his disposal: words. "I'm pretty sure yer no student at a Hero Academy, so why don'tcha tell me what yer goal is, huh?" Despite his best efforts, Eli was unable to hide his southern drawl from time to time, especially under duress. He was hoping it would be one more thing for the enemy to take notice of, anything to buy himself a little more time.
With the effects of the gravity well ability taking direct action on Eli, Ah Gou knew for sure this was close to the end for his opponent. The Gravity Well abilities was much more than just making the guy the centre of gravity, but it acted as an attack mechanism to keep attacks continuously coming without Ah Gou having to lift a finger. The random debris from everywhere would not only gravitate around Eli, but also "fall" directly onto him as if he was the floor. This essentially created an attack from any and every angle that had loose debris that could be dragged at the target.
At this point, Eli had spoken to Ah Gou directly whilst attempting to escape. Maybe this was a hero's infamous "talk no jutsu" that helped them out of many many hard places that they shouldn't be capable of. "Who exactly are you anyway? Why are you trying to attack me instead of helping those children? Are you a Villain of some kind?"
Ah Gou wasn't sure why the man kept bringing up these kids that were nowhere in site nor could Ah Gou hear anything besides the rupturing building and the man trying to finesse out of a fade.
Ah Gou: "Who am i? I am Ah Gou.... I'm no villain. But I'm no hero either. You see, The preservation of life is much too often used as justification for taking it with you 'heros'.. So i can't align myself with them. You see where you are now? Breaking laws simply off a hunch that you MIGHT save a life... It will soon move to more drastic results. You'll be breaking the law and cause casualties all for what? To stop a robbery? To stop a wanted villain? Yeah, my goal is to kill you here and now..."
Ah Gou was once a student just like Eli.. But he went through harsh times which "enlightened" him as to how the world of hero's worked. He wasn't fond of any of it, leaving the academy to serve his own justice as "The Grand Marshall"
"Yeah, my goal is to kill you here and now..." Eli heard Ah Gou's voice echo through him like a strong strike of a drum; the words reverberated and surrounded his thoughts. Kill me? Eli struggled to understand the man's reasoning. Why would he want to kill me? And he says he ain't a Villain... It simply didn't make any sense. To a point, Eli did grasp what the young man was saying; there were certainly risks to Hero work, there was simply no arguing that. In Eli's mind, however, the cost was always worth it. Eli would of course prefer a world in which no casualties existed, but it was simply impossible for every Hero to be as strong as the Symbol of Peace... wasn't it?
Eli mentally shook the thoughts from his mind, focusing on the task at hand. By this moment, Eli had understood the strength of the Gravity Well that had been placed upon him; not only were small objects being drawn to him, but the buildings nearby were being torn from their foundations bit by bit to rocket towards Eli. The young southerner already found it hard to move at all, but he knew he had one shot to attack. Ah Gou had yet to see Eli's Quirk, so he had to make this surprise mean something.
A large crack erupted from a nearby building, drawing Eli's attention to the sound. Two large segments of concrete and rebar had detached themselves from the structures, and were plummeting at a breakneck pace directly toward Eli. He smirked, eager for the moment to arrive; it would take precise timing and a little luck, but Eli was confident this would have some sort of effect on Ah Gou. I just have to time it right... Eli anxiously prepared himself for brief impact, putting his hands out to 'catch' the projectiles, one in each hand. The millisecond that Eli felt the touch of the objects upon his skin, his nervousness had been overcome. This was going to work!
Feeling as though this was a moment for theatrics, Eli tried his hand at a comeback line. "You won't put this hillbilly down that easy!" Eli grunted as his body executed the motions he had prepared for. After coming in contact with the debris, Eli was able to activate his quirk. He applied a light push to the debris, barely enough to keep them from crashing into his body, and swiftly turned a complete circle on his right heel. The instant before he had turned completely around, Eli used his full force to push the concrete outward, sending the two chunks flying at an extremely high speed at Ah Gou.
Having calculated the trajectory beforehand, Eli knew this attack would be amplified due to the heightened sense of gravity around his own center of mass. It was a technique that had been done before when returning the Lunar Lander from the orbit of the moon back to the Earth's atmosphere, which used the moon's gravitational field as a slingshot to propel the spacecraft back home. This would work in a similar way, only with much less force and mass; fortunately for Eli the force of this attack would be plenty to handle his assailant. Almost too well, actually, as Eli released the projectiles from his attack he became concerned for his opponent. He caught himself stepping forward after the attack, worried he might have overdone it. "Hey, are you alright...?" Eli asked the open air for a response, hoping and praying he hadn't damaged the man beyond repair.
Finally the Gravity Well effects had fully come to fruition how Ah Gou had wanted it to. Eli had found himself coming too close to certain debri that was within the strength limits of the gravitional pull that had been placed on his body. A few chunks of concrete were closing in on the guy, in a way that was sure to harm him enough to call it a win for Ah Gou. Ah Gou had gotten extremely excited at this point and began to rush Eli at full speed to really finish the job when the attack actually hits. A type of anger Ah Gou felt in the past had began to resurface as he approached Eli along with the debri. Ah Gou was focused on nothing but Eli himself; So much, to the point that Ah Gou had started getting immediate tunnel vision, seeing nothing but Eli's face as they got closer and closer to one another. This was probably Ah Gou's downfall at this point. He had become so engulfed in his anger about "heros" that he actually wanted to take the mans life right here on this spot. He couldn't let him escape. He couldn't let another reckless hero be in this world...
With all this focus on Eli, Ah Gou hadn't really focused on Eli or what he was doing at that point. This is why once Eli did the spinning maneuver whilst using his quirk finally, Ah Gou hadn't noticed until the last moments. The debris being "repeled" back to Ah Gou were seen at a moment where Ah Gou was able to react at the very last second. Using the enhanced speed from lowering his weight with gravity earlier, he was able to pivot his body in such a way that one of the the concrete blocks missed his body completely, yet he knew he couldn't evade both, thus prompting the use of gravity to help once again. "Shit i might be too late..." Ah Gou made a nearby wall the new center of gravity, making the second block that couldn't be evaded to be pulled towards the wall. But it was indeed too late. Ah Gou managed to save himself from having his head completely taken off of his shoulders, but still wasn't good enough to stop the inevitable. Being pulled to the side was helpful, yes, but the rebar still came too fast and directly hit Ah Gou in his right eye; Completely ripping it out of its socket while the attached concrete knocked Ah Gou back into a wall. The wall crumbled over the newly injured man, while Eli approached with his words echoing into Ah's ears.
"Hey, are you alright...?"
The words seemed to only piss Ah Gou off even further as his eye leaked out a great amount of blood. Using one hand to cover his eye (right hand), he'd use his left hand to chunk the rubble off from on top of him. Rising like a warrior whom had not yet given up, Ah Gou rips a piece of his jeans off, wraps his eye up and points at Eli with the blood from his eye dripping from his pointed index finger.
"Yes..... You do have the violent side to you. You do have some fight huh? Aha Show the world the damage a hero can do.... Let's really get this started, Eli..."
Eli was amazed the attacks didn't squarely land upon his opponent. I guess I was being too sure... Eli assumed his calculations would have guaranteed a solid hit, but nothing was for certain when Quirk users were involved. As he approached Ah Gou, it was clear that some damage had been done; Ah Gou revealed his right eye that had been destroyed thanks to the rebar. Eli was taken slightly aback by this, his gentle foundation shaken by the gruesome outcome of violence. "You need to go to a hospital, let me call for paramedics..." Eli began to plead his case, but Ah Gou had other things in mind.
"Yes... You do have the violent side to you. You do have some fight huh? Aha Show the world the damage a hero can do... Let's really get this started, Eli..."
I don't... no, I'm not... Eli's thoughts scrambled in his mind, struggling to defend his own actions within his code. What Ah Gou was saying was true: Eli did show a violent side to him, and it caused serious damage. But... it was self defense! ...Right? These simple accusations by Ah Gou were creating rumblings within Eli's own moral compass, making him second guess his every move. After a few seconds of mental debate, Eli physically shook his body straight, assuming a fighting stance. He gritted his teeth and stared down Ah Gou, "I don't want to fight you, but I won't use my Quirk anymore. You're forgetting the reason we came here in the first place!" Eli shouted, hoping to hear some sign of the children in the distance.
The structures nearby had already been weakened by the prolonged effect of the Gravity Well. There was no telling what would happen if Eli pushed or pulled anything in any direction; the entirety of the buildings could collapse, and that would be extremely dangerous for anyone trapped inside. No, if this man wanted a fight, Eli would fight him without putting those citizens in danger. Perhaps it was his weakened state of mind, but Eli didn't wait to begin fighting; he immediately charged forward and threw several wide, inaccurate punches toward his foe. The sooner Ah Gou was incapacitated, the sooner Eli could find those children, and then hopefully deliver the young man to a medical facility.
"Forget the reason WE came here? Tch. Don't be a fool. There's clearly no one here but the two of us...." Ah Gou found himself wincing from the pain surging through his right eye socket but immediately threw the feeling to the side. With the injury happening mid fight and Ah Gou being so mad, he was able to ignore the pain to a certain degree and continue on with his endeavors on this day.
"You really did a number on me with that one.... I'll remember you. Aha" Even though Ah Gou seemed 100% confident with his outer appearance and attitude, he had his hesitations now that the injury happened. The inquiry immediately had hampered Ah Gou's sight, making him nigh blind to the right side with no peripheral vision. He knew as he moved to attack, he'd also have to constantly rotate his upper body and head to see blind spots on his right. This wasn't something he was used too, but Ah Gou was a physical genius and would pull it off. Not wanting stray debris to hit him from any blind spots now that he had them, Ah Gou deactivated the gravity wells and returned the surrounding gravity on eli and the wall to normal. As he did so he rushed at Eli, feining a hook from the left with his left hand, before stopping mid way and delivering a swift right knee to the mans gut. Simultaneously to Ah Gou feining the attack, he'd use his right had which had blood on it still, to sling blood into Eli's face as a direct distraction that aimed to blind him. "Gotcha rookie..."
All the while, the buildings Foundation began to crumble more and more due to the constant shifts within gravity. Not only did Ah Gou's Quirk have a direct effect on the situation but so did Eli's. He thought he wouldn't use his quirk, but Ah Gou would force it out of him by beating him to a pulp.
Despite his earlier training, Eli was having a hard time competing in hand to hand combat. Typically, he would augment his style with his Quirk to make his hits more effective or to keep a good amount of distance. Currently, that plan of action was ill advised. Eli intentionally missed several swings, gauging his opponent's ability and speed, but his 'tests' were poorly timed. Ah Gou, regardless of the pain he might have been feeling from a severe eye injury, seemed to be remarkably capable fighting hand to hand. Eli wondered briefly what exactly his training regimen was, and if he could become this proficient.
Though he wasn't as experienced in fighting, Eli was able to hold his own, for the most part. Ah Gou was noticeably having to tilt his head in order to gather the full area of information, due to not having both eyes to see with. I can use that to my advantage, Eli thought to himself, trying to find a way to knock Ah Gou out quickly. Before he knew it, a left hook was being sent his way; Eli arrogantly assumed it was a full powered punch, so he pivoted his torso to the right in order to avoid getting hit. "Hmph! That was too sl- Augh!" Eli began to taunt the attack, but he was cut short by a sharp pain in his ribcage. He immediately gazed down and realized the slow hook was a feint, and that this knee strike was the intended offense all along. The air in his lungs was forced quickly to exit them, leaving Eli stunned and stammered for a moment. In this moment, Ah Gou used his right hand to flick some blood onto Eli's face, and more specifically his eyes, causing a slight distraction to the young man.
Eli, in somewhat of a panic, forced himself to fall backward blindly. He fell to the ground and on all fours, reversing direction away from Ah Gou. He wasn't quite sure where he was headed, as the blood was causing him to have impaired vision, but by blinking rapidly he could determine a path into one of the buildings currently in disarray. He though for sure this might cause Ah Gou to think twice about fighting and using his Quirk, if the man wasn't a Villain as Eli had accused him of being.
When Eli arrived in the half-constructed building, his eyesight began to slowly return to him. It was dark, as night slowly crept into the site, but Eli could see a group of two small shadows at the other end of the building. He also could hear some soft whimpering from the same direction. Taking a moment to wipe his eyes clean, he squinted and slowly approached the figures. "Hey there, who is it?" Eli spoke in a neutral tone, hoping not to scare off what he assumed would be the children he was looking for. Unfortunately for him, this left his back turned and his guard completely down against his assailant who was sure to be pursuing Eli within seconds.
A sense of satisfaction ran through Ah Gou's body when the knee dug into his opponents gut. He finally got him. The man known as Eli was persistent and skilled to say the least, but Ah Gou knew for sure that he himself was more powerful than this guy. Eli had began to stumble a bit after the blow but again surprised Ah Gou by his quick recovery from the head on blow. Once eli recovered, he dashed into the darkness to escape into the buidling, which would definitely be an issue for Ah Gou. His eyesight was gone completely in his right eye, thus he was struggling to not only see, but adjust to moving and reacting with half his sight completely deteriorated.
"Shit, he can be luring me into a better terrain for himself since his sight would be much better than mine right now. Or he could legit be attempting to escape. Either way, i have to catch him; I can't let this fool get away from my grasp!"
The thoughts raced through Ah Gou's mind nearly as fast as his body instinctively darted after Eli. Now in a darker area, Ah Gou quickly catches up to Eli due to raising his speed with gravity once again. Once in a decent enough range, Ah Gou used gravity to effect the ground around Eli. Specifically the ground would raise up huge chunks that would surround Eli so he had no where to go. On the other hand, Using the effects of gravity once more, Ah Gou was able to force an abundance of concrete and metal bars to fall from the roofing above Eli.
"This..... Is the end for you, Eli.."
Ah Gou had halted his forward progression at this point as the broken roofing let in a hand full of light that slightly illuminated the area. With the light creeping in through minute ruptures in the foundation, Ah Gou with a blurred vision tried to make out something in the distance. But what was it?
As Eli slowly approached the darkened images, his mental picture was becoming clear. There were two of them- children, couldn't be older than twelve by the looks of them- huddled together and sobbing in fear. Eli understood completely upon finally reaching his target; fighting with Ah Gou was not only disruptive of the construction site, but it was causing these civilians to recoil in pure terror. The rumblings of the buildings beginning a slow collapse coupled with loud crashes and collisions certainly resulted in clear dread, who could blame the children's natural instincts to hide? The two of them were mere meters away, all Eli had to do was reach out and...
A familiar feeling of sluggishness washed over Eli's body. Ah Gou was at work once more, despite Eli's clear warnings time and time again the truant chose to pursue an unwilling participant into his little 'fight'. The current effect of Ah Gou's Quirk revealed itself to be raising rubble into the air around Eli and cluttering his immediate surrounding. Paired with his already slow movements, this would cause Eli to nearly become immobile. His every step and movement became tiresome, as he trudged forward to try and reach the children. Eli was not yet within speaking distance, but he could tell the children began to retreat further due to his muddled shadow approaching. "Damn, why is this guy makin' this so hard...?" Eli cursed under his breathe, referring to his persistent adversary Ah Gou. "Gotta clear this rubble so I can get to-"
Eli's words were stopped immediately by a cacophonous roar directly overhead. His eye line darted directly toward the ceiling, where a stray beam of moonlight struck his cheek and illuminated a bit of the scene. Whether it was the natural conclusion of the damage their fight was causing, or Ah Gou's direct impact, the broken and crumbling ceiling fell loose, threatening to pummel and bury both Eli and the trapped children alike!
Eli's mind went into overdrive, planning out his movements with super precision. The falling concrete and metal seemed to travel in slow motion as he calculated exactly what he was to do. Eli made a wide motion with his arms, scooping as much floating debris as his arms could fit in one motion and clumped it together with more debris to his left side. Thanks in part to the low gravity that Ah Gou's Quirk provided, he was able to amass a large quantity of rock in a short motion, like using a large net in a pond full of fish. Eli then used this assembled boulder as an anchor, and put both of his hands to the largest piece nearby. "Here goes...!" he grunted, and pushed with phenomenal quickness.
Eli's body rocketed across the building toward the children, scooping them up one in each arm as a large bird would grasp it's prey. This wouldn't stop the debris from falling, but now he was in better position to protect them. Unfortunately for Eli, all he had to shield the young ones- both boys, now that he was up close- was his own body. He shouted to them, shocking them out of their tears, in urgency. "Get under me! I'll protect you!" With little time to react, the boys threw themselves to the ground underneath Eli as he made his body into somewhat of a dome-shape. Eli touched his hands to the floor beneath him, his feet outspread the same distance, and prepared for the worst.
