Summary: Haoquin is taking care of some business when a few intruders stumble upon him using his quirk. A fight breaks out.
Location: An alleyway somewhere New York
Terrain:20 meters long and about 8 meters wide
Range: Mid
It was about a quarter after midnight and Haoquin was out for a night stroll. He had just touched down in New York a few hours earlier and was already out and about. A black hood was over his head to shield him from the light rain. The small shower became Hao's background music and it seemed to be what he focused on. Cutting the corner and turning right he begins to walk down this alleyway. It was rather dark and was only lit by a single light that hanged off the side of the building. Though enough for him to see the other side. His hands were in the pocket of his coat and he walked with his head slightly down. After taking a few steps within the alleyway a wave a shock entered his body. Something that immobilized him and caused him not to move.
A small laugh could be heard coming from the direct left of Haoquin. He struggles to turn his head to see a masked man wearing a yellow jumpsuit. He smirks as he walks toward Haoquin. Looking downward slightly, Haoquin would notice that the man's shadow was attached to Haoquins. The contact of his shadow was the thing that was anchoring Haoquin down. A small knife escaped the sleeve of the male as he begins to speak.
"We're are going to make this short. Once I'm done, the boss can pay me and I'll be on my way. Now hold still will ya." The man said.
This was no bueno. Haoquin was easily caught by this man, how could he be so careless? Haoquin struggled to free himself but it was no use. The man neared Haoquin and was now within striking distance. With a small sigh, Haoquin closed his eyes and stand still accepting his fate. Who could've possibly sent this guy after him? The question replayed in his mind numerous times. Faces appeared in his mind's eyes but none of them stood out to each other. Growing frustrated at the situation, Haoquin would release a shockwave and crush the small area around him, causing the man to be pushed back a bit and Haoquin free to move. Haoquin looks toward the male and approaches him. He was heavily injured from the one shockwave.
With a small shove, Haoquin had sent the man he was dealing with flying into a trash can. Although Hao left the gang life, the gang life didn't seem to leave him. While visiting New York in order to catch up with some old friends, Hao had been ambushed. Luckily Hao was able to fight him off while protecting himself. The crimson-haired male approached the ambusher with furrowed brows. It wasn't every day that you got attacked out of the blue. Was this the working of one of the local gangs? Perhaps a blast from the past? It has been years since Haoquin used his quirk to seriously harm anyone though tonight might be the night. Haoquin glances down the alleyway making sure no one was around before pressing his foot on the guy's neck. His quirk wasn't used yet but this would still be uncomfortable for the guy. Only a small amount of pressure would be pressed on him. Nothing to cause damage. Though it was clear that the guy wasn't moving.
"Listen my patience is running thing. That sorry excuse for an attack. You really outta do better next time. Now tell me who sent you before I end you...." Haoquin said to him.
Cumber stepped from the shadows that clung to the alley's edges. Dark red hair turned to a near-black from the water that drenched it, having been left uncovered ever since he'd begun following a thug who'd caught his attention. A mere glance at the man had told Cumber he could expect some fun if he stuck around, and sure enough, he'd managed to "catch" the attention of some hooded bloke. Before Cumber even had time to jump in the fray, it was already over for the thug. Laying in a heap of garbage with a foot ready to crush his windpipe, the shadow manipulator was outmatched by his target with ease. He'd been getting excited already, but seeing someone who knew how to throw down was getting his blood roiling.
"Nah," he called over to the hooded man, announcing his own presence, "Just a minnow taking a bite out of a bigger fish, ya know?" He strode forward, grinning as he raised a hand in greeting. Before he finished the action though, a glow emanated from his hand before manifesting into a small orb. Still smiling, his hand flicked forward, sending the orb to land in the center of the downed thug's chest where it stopped for a heartbeat and then violently exploded, consuming the thug in destructive ki with only a short scream of pain escaping him. "Me, though? Call me a shark," Cumber growled as his grin took on a much more feral appearance, "and it's time for a frenzy." With that, Cumber stepped forward again, hands curling into fists as he waited for the hooded figure to make a move.
As gogo opened the door to the convenience store, a bell would chime, successfully alerting the few customers standing in line as well as the cashiers of their presence. Gogo and Marina had been studying all night to prepare for the upcoming test that Bowser had prepared. Their session lasted so long that they had forgotten to eat for the day; so they decided to stop by and get a dinner. Since they were unemployed college students, they were forced to scrap together what little money they had between them for a single meal, along with a few little snacks.
Taking her yellow helmet off, Gogo shook her head while running her fingers through her black and purple streaked hair. Her helmet, now under her arm, wet from the light drizzle of rain that would soon pick up and become a heavy downpour. Her eyes took a few seconds to adjust to the bright lights of the store compared to the dark night sky they just emerged from.
Close the door will ya? Ya letting in the damn rain ya jawn!
Gogo would respond to the man with a pop of her gum and by flipping him the bird. Glad to see New York hasn't changed a bit. The people here still just as charming she whispered under her breath. It had been about a week since they returned from California, where Gogo was a first round exit and Marina failed to make the tournament.
Gogo held the door open for her companion, Marina, as she got off of her bike. The men would continue to chirp as gogo waited for her. The girl would mock the men and chuckle at them.
It had been some time since everyone had returned from California. It felt good to be home. Things had been so crazy and now all she wanted to do was get back to working on what she needed to. It was still a surprise she had made it as far as she did, and now she knew what she needed to work on most of all. But for now, academics was of high importance and the test that she and her companion had been studying for was starting to feel more like a cake walk. [break][break]
She parked her bike and removed her helmet grumbling at the noise of her stomach. Right. Nourishment seemed good about now. As much as she would rather go for a home cooked meal, there was no time for all of that. And besides, it was a nice night. Nothing like a little air. She hurried along to the door held by Gogo and looked around. Seemed like the usual night bunchers. They didn't seem too friendly though. That was fine.[break][break]
"Now where was... Oh."[break][break[
She quickly made her way to one of the isles picking up a small box. The familiar cartoon animals dancing along the box only seemed to make her snort to herself. Marina was too big on junk food but she seemed to have a weakness for fruit snacks. Who could blame her?[break][break]
"Совершенство ... Perfect. Let's just consider this dessert then... What do you think we should go for? Ramen? I wouldn't trust buying like... Actual meat here. Isn't the best place to do so. We can check the freezer section and see if anything's good..."[break]

"Nah. Just a minnow taking a bite out of a bigger fish, ya know?" The voice was heard loud and clear.
Haoquin shoots a side glance toward his flank to see a male coming toward him. Had another person been in the alley? Haoquin curses to himself, hopefully, they weren't affiliated with the authorities. Though he dismisses that thought as he watches a ball of energy moves toward Hao. With a small hop backward Haoquin expands the distance between. His guard doesn't lower even though the ball wasn't met to explode on him. Instead, it consumed the male and killed him instantly. He couldn't help but stare at the lifeless male for a few moments. A small bite on his lip, showing a sign of agitation could be seen. Haoquin moves over to the male and passes his hand over his eyes in order to close them. A deadly glare is shot toward Cumber.
"I wasn't going to actually kill him. I don't know who you are or what your deal is about the aquatic animal but that was uncalled for. Though I've always wanted to hunt a shark, tho I imagined I would do it out at sea." Haoquin said.
The male began to walk toward Cumber, focuses on the male. His hands remained at his side. With every step, cracks began to form on the ground. Haoquin's friends would have to wait.
Cumber waited a moment, watching the hooded man as he knelt to close the trash heap's lifeless eyes once the blast of energy had died out. Brow furrowing in confusion, his grin lost its edge as he faltered at the sight. "Awfully courteous, ain'tcha?" he muttered under his breath, as he continued to size the man up. He'd seen the man expel some sort of shockwave to knock the thug back, but the limitations of it were still unknown. Even Cumber was cautious.
"I wasn't going to actually kill him," the man called to Cumber, and his eyes widened in surprise - had the hooded man still heard him? "I don't know who you are or what your deal is about the aquatic animal but that was uncalled for. Though I've always wanted to hunt a shark, tho I imagined I would do it out at sea." With that, the hooded man started towards cumber, body language relatively relaxed, though the ground opened up a bit with every step he took.
Cumber gave a derisive snort before he turned both palms upward and an orb of light manifested from each, hovering in place before he motioned forward with both hands and sent them to stop the man's approach. Two explosions of energy followed, clearing the area of debris and opening up a few holes in the walls where his ki had reached. Though he doubted the man was caught in the blast, Cumber was making sure to keep some distance between them. "Ah-ah ahh," Cumber called out whimsically, "I know your game, minnow. Unfortunately for you, I have the Konami code for it." He clenched a fist, and a similar green-blue light began to glow from within his grasp, but instead of an orb emerging, four sparks bounced their way up the arm from his fist and began to jump sporadically all over Cumber's body.
Gogo watched Marina float through the store to a certain isle. Gogo and Marina had not spent too much time together but she could comfortably predict what the girl was after. A smirk would spread across Gogo's face as Marina held up the box of animal shaped fruit snacks with assorted flavors.
"Совершенство ... Perfect. Let's just consider this dessert then... What do you think we should go for? Ramen? I wouldn't trust buying like... Actual meat here. Isn't the best place to do so. We can check the freezer section and see if anything's good..."
Normally Gogo would have insisted on getting a dinner prepared, but since she wanted Marina to feel comfortable, she would give in to the idea of getting the frozen food. As she headed down a isle parallel to Marina's; her eyes were set on a box of "Pocket Hots". They were a generic, mainly cheaper, version of hot pockets. They came in a variety of different meats such as pepperoni, sausage, and chicken. Gogo would grab the sausage flavored box before holding it up and showing it to Marina; She would then walk to the counter to purchase the frozen food.
That'll be $9.00 B.
Gogo would place the money on the counter before heading out the store. With the bag around her wrist she would equip her helmet and sit on the bike.
Let's get back to your room and finish up
Gogo would pat the seat inviting her to hurry up so they could go.

Marina kept hold of the fruity sugar gummies as she followed along with Gogo. Their options seemed pretty vast, however, it all really depended on what would actually taste pretty good. She wasn't one to judge though.Once Gogo had handed her a box, she looked to it feeling her stomach begin to turn.[break][break]
"Uhh I don't know... This doesn't really look up my alley...Hm.. Maybe I'll just go for the noodles instead."[break][break]
She took a hold of a few looking over the various flavors. Something spicy was always favored. And she just so happened to find some that were considered twice as hot than the normal. Perfect. She took a few and her fruit snacks and began to head to the register. The payment wasn't that high thankfully. As they began to leave the store, she grumbled a bit to herself.[break][break]
"Hey Gogo do you think this test will be super hard? I don't know. I don't really worry about this stuff but I almost feel too comfortable about it. It's kinda starting to get to me... When we get back, maybe I'll develop another way of remembering things or... I don't know."[break][break]
She was still fairly new to the university so, there were still a few teachers that she needed to get the hang of. She needed to relax but maybe after some food, she could start thinking straight again.[break]

Two bright orbs illuminated the dark area. Fight or flight kicked in as Haoquin's hands came together. With two rapid claps, a concussive blast would be sent toward both of the orbs in order to stop them from blowing everything up. A loud bang could be heard and perhaps a bit of smoke arise from the debris. Anyone who came down this alley would probably guess that a miniature tornado had run through the alley. Cracks began to form on the side of the building as well. So much for not causing a scene. Haoquin's approach never ceased to exist. He kept the same glare and same momentum. His walk turned into a run which turned into a stride. Haoquin needed to end this quick before anyone came forward. The small light show around the male didn't disturb him in the slightest. Hao smirks as he draws near the male. The light rain transformed into a consistent downpour.
Assuming he was able to enter the striking distance, Hao would attempt to latch onto the male's right arm, with his own while attempting to get behind him. Cumber would find his arm in great pain if Haoquin was able to get a hold.
After seeing the hooded man disturb his ki blasts, Cumber's attention focused on his apparently dangerous hands. And sure enough, he was closing in on Cumber, intent to get close written on the man's now-visible face. Snatching a trashcan from nearby, Cumber threw the metal bin directly at the shockwave-user before throwing another ball of ki behind it. He attempted to detonate it with the intent to burn the man with ki, if not give him pause long enough for Cumber to slip in under his guard and toss the man towards the street behind Cumber.
"Come on, minnow!" Cumber shouted through the pounding rain as he released the ki blast, before dashing in close, "Let's take this to the big pond!" He roared, attempting to grab the man's wrists and prevent his hands from getting hold of Cumber. Upon physical contact, the four sparks would rush to slam themselves into the hooded man, though Cumber doubted the individual attacks would feel like much to the man. You wanted a good fight! Cumber screamed internally, his blood pumping with excitement, Let's have a good fight! Yeah!
With some breathing room between himself and his opponent, Cumber would assume a grounding stance before the bright green-blue glow of his ki would erupt from his body, producing a subtle northern-lights effect all over Cumber's body. With his body cloaked in ki, Cumber made to close in on his opponent with a mix of rage and glee warring for control of his facial features.
"Hey Gogo do you think this test will be super hard? I don't know. I don't really worry about this stuff but I almost feel too comfortable about it. It's kinda starting to get to me... When we get back, maybe I'll develop another way of remembering this or... I don't know."
After placing her helmet on, Gogo would place her hands around Marina's waist as she spoke in preparation for the ride.
This test'll be a breeze for us! The way we've been studying? I feel nothing but comfortable right now to be honest with you. Now lets get back and eat these noodles CAUSE I'M STARVING!
Gogo would smack her hand on Marina's thigh as if she was a steed to signal her to pull off. The bike was begin to slow take off before picking up speed as they went down the street. The bag wrapped around her arm would flutter against the wind. The sound of the plastic muffled by the sounds of the bike's loud, roaring engine. The street lights would zoom past the pair as they made their way back to the dorms. Eventually they would come to a red light and be forced to stop.
BANG!
A loud bang echoed through the night sky, which would immediately catch the attention of Gogo and Marina. Smoke could be seen rising through the sky from the direction the sound originated from. Gogo would assume it came from an explosive of some kind or a quirk was being used. At this time of night whatever it was can't possibly be good.
Hey Marina, you think we should go check that out?

"I don't know. I feel like I can do it but... This is my first test here. I don't know what to look for or how these professors work. I just don't want to go in with a big ego and get shot down immediately after the first few questions."[break][break]
She placed on her helmet and began to start her engine. It felt good to be able to ride around New York again. California was far too confusing. Too many back alleys and turns. It gets too easy to get lost. As the two began to ride down the streets heading back, she quickly began to pull to a stop.[break][break]
"Huh..."[break][break]
Marina rested her foot against the ground as she parked her bike completely. Was that a gun? With smoke of that amount, it could have been just any sort of weapon. Once she stood up from her bike, she lifted her eye guard of her helmet slightly. [break][break]
"That can't be a gun.... Something bad is happening around here. Now we need to be very careful. Were are practically in the heart of the city right now... Too much commotion could really end up getting someone around here hurt." [break][break]
She secured their begs against her bike and pulled it to the side safely where no one would take their things.[break][break]
"Yeah. Let's stay quiet and try to see if we can get to the bottom of this. Not jumping to conclusions but... This might end with a fight."[break]

Avoiding this fight could've been possible had Haoquin just walked away. Though the unorthodox sense of justice that Haoquin has told him otherwise. The crimson-haired male easily turned the trash can coming at him into nothing. A simple tap was all that he needed. His eyebrows slightly raised as he found himself taking a ki blast head-on. A plume of smoke enveloped Hao as the sensation of pain enveloped his body. A bit disoriented, he found himself being flung out of the alley and into the street. The male didn't expect himself to be overcome so easily but it seems like this show called shark he was fighting wasn't one to be taken lightly. It wouldn't be long until somebody comes along and sees this. Before they knew it, authorities would be involved. -Well, I guess I should stop holding back then.-He thought to himself.
The moment that Hao's wrist is grabbed he sends his right foot straight upward into the chin of the male. Cumber made the same mistake every other combatant made when fighting Haoquin. Thinking that his quirk only worked with his hands. Upon impact with the male's chin, he would feel the area around him violently shake before he would be sent into the air if the initial kick made contact that is. Though Haoquin couldn't stop there, clapping his hands shortly after, a concussive blast aimed to slam directly in the chest of the male. Unless he somehow was able to right himself in the air or counter it, he would be a sitting duck. Whether it hit or not, Haoquin would leap back creating some space between them, also getting hit by the sparks that came at him. WC:287
Cumber wasn't surprised that the man so easily deflected the flying trash can, but he gave a short bark of victorious laughter when his ki blast connected. Taking advantage of the man's slightly dazed state, Cumber moved in to bodily throw the hooded man out into the street. When he got hold, though, Cumber had barely enough time to release and bring his hands up to block the incoming knee, deflecting the blow into his chest as a shockwave rocked through his body. With the wind knocked out of him, Cumber's body tumbled back several feet before he could right himself, wiping a streak of blood from the corner of his mouth. The large man looked up in time to see a shockwave hurtling towards him, and rolled to the side, narrowly avoiding it.
"Got a bit more spunk than the rest of these minnows, eh?" Cumber called to his opponent, grin widening as he stood up to give a very slight nod of appreciation. "Here's hoping you can keep up!" With that, the bright green-blue light of his ki poured out of Cumber's body and enveloped it entirely as a wave of anger washed over him. He burst out into the street, faster than before, releasing ki blasts as he closed in on his opponent, creating two explosions of ki behind and to either side of the hooded man in an effort to keep him stationary long enough for Cumber to get close enough to land a heavily wound-up punch.
"Yeah. Let's stay quiet and try to see if we can get to the bottom of this. Not jumping to conclusions but... This might end with a fight."
Gogo's body quivered as goosebumps arose to the surface of her pale skin. Her body ripe with anticipation as they got closer. When they had come out tonight, she was not prepared for a battle in the slightest. Gogo was truly understanding that crime can happen literally anywhere at any time, and in the future she would need to be more prepared. By "more prepared" she would need to have access to her costume at all times. She had considered wearing it exclusively before, however she valued her privacy and liked that she could be a citizen as well.
The two girls rode in the direction of what they already assumed was a fight of some sort, before getting off the bike well before hand. From this point onward they would approach on foot. This was done to avoid having their presence known by the person or people nearby; the loud bike motor would give them away instantly. The two girls would happen to come across what they predicted. Not a normal fight but fight with the use of quirks, which is illegal. Gogo decided to act quick to break it up.
Time to smoke these guys out Gogo whispered to Marina as she inhaled. A ball of smoke would be fired through her helmet at the men while they were preoccupied. Almost instantly the Alley way would be covered in heavy smoke. Her helmets thermal vision would activate immediately afterwards.
